CNFA is a not-for-profit organization based in Washington, D.C., dedicated to stimulating economic growth in the agricultural sector and improving livelihoods by cultivating entrepreneurship. CNFA specializes in fostering private sector investments in training, innovative technologies, and marketing to increase the overall competitiveness of agricultural value chains and rural development, to increase people’s incomes, to develop skills in the rural workforce, and to facilitate exports.
- Program Description USAID Feed the Future Hinga Wunguke Activity
The purpose of the USAID Feed the Future Hinga Wunguke Activity (Hinga Wunguke) is to support increased agriculture productivity and income, access to finance and markets, and access and consumption of nutritious food products in Rwanda, while increasing the resilience of the agriculture and food systems to the changing climate. To achieve this goal, the Activity will sustainably increase agricultural productivity, increase access to finance for farmers and agribusinesses, improve producers’ nutrition and market outcomes, and strengthen the enabling environment to foster market-driven outcomes in agriculture.
To achieve program objectives Hinga Wunguke will deploy recruit interns across all Activity components. Hinga Wunguke goals will be achieved more cost-effectively with the support of interns and young women and men including those with disability, who can handle a variety of routine and repetitive tasks which frees up program staff for more important work.
In addition, the CNFA Hinga Wunguke internship program will provide youth with the inclusive opportunity to gain valuable work experience, build occupational competences, deepen technical skills and improve their capacity to work.
The goal is for each internship to provide cost-effective resources to CNFA in program implementation, in order to attain its objectives at a reasonable cost. Through this internship program, Hinga Wunguke will give the intern the opportunity for career exploration and development, and to learn new skills in market systems development thinking.
The Hinga Wunguke Zone of Influence includes the following target districts: Bugesera, Ngoma, Kayonza, Gatsibo, Gakenke, Burera, Nyabihu, Rubavu, Rutsiro, Ngororero, Karongi, Nyamasheke, and Nyamagabe.
- Communications Intern Position Description.
The Hinga Wunguke offers a wide range of internships in various project implementation fields. Therefore , CNFA want to recruit communications intern to support Hinga Wunguke communications activities. The intern, based in Kigali Hinga Wunguke office, will support communications activities for the Hinga Wunguke interventions across all targeted districts.
Qualifications requirements for communications intern:
- Degree in Mass communications
- Degree in Graphic design and videography,
- Eligibility
The Hinga Wunguke Internship Program is a youth inclusion strategy and under the CNFA program applicants will be considered based on the criteria below.
- Male and female individuals between 18 to 30 years old (age limit may vary depending on the position).
- National of any country eligible to be in Rwanda (a working permit is required for foreigners).
- Have graduated within the past 5 years.
- Have a strong academic background in a relevant field
- Be fluent in English
- Have no conflict of interest with CNFA.
- All offers of internship positions are subject to a satisfactory reference check by CNFA.
- Each professional development goal needs to be matched with each internship opportunity.
- Affirmative action principles will be applied for those persons with disabilities across the intern's recruitment process. In this context the recruitment committee can bypass some eligibility criteria to attract and ensure representation of those people with disabilities who may choose to apply.
Other requirements:
- Each interested intern should have his/her own laptop to use during the internship

The location of duty performance is the Hinga Wunguke Zone of Influence.
Interns will be based in Hinga Wunguke Kigali Office with possible travel in Hinga Wunguke zone of Influence (13 districts above mentioned).
