About the Role:

The largest independent child rights group in the world, Save the Children (SC), was founded on the principle that every child has the right to survival, protection, growth, and participation in society. Our goal is to bring about immediate and long-lasting change in the way the world views and treats children.
The pharmacy nurse intern's job is to make sure that the Save the Children-run warehouse's drug and medical supply operations are carried out to a high degree and in accordance with national and international norms. Monitoring the activities in the Kigali/Kirehe pharmacy warehouse, making sure the delivery of drugs complies with the law, and helping the pharmacist with everyday tasks.
Qualifications and experience
- Advanced diploma(A1) or bachelor’s degree (Ao) in General Nursing registered by from National Council of Nurses and Midwifes (with valid license) or bachelor’s degree in pharmacy with registered by from National pharmacy Council with valid license.
- Developing expertise in humanitarian medical logistics with international NGOs.
- Supporting first phase self-sufficient primary health care programs in the past
- the capacity to work in unstable environments and sustain a positive team chemistry.
- Ability to forge amicable and productive working relationships both inside and outside the business while working in a multicultural environment.
- Strong medical expertise is required in numerous clinical departments.
- Knowledgeable about evaluating the reliability, cost, and quality of medical supplies and equipment.
- A department responsible for providing medical supplies to appropriate units before supplies become scarce.
- Advanced computer navigation abilities and internet system experience
- Outstanding organizational and communication abilities
- Strong experience in requisitioning necessary medical supplies and guaranteeing proper bill payment. Detail-oriented and well-organized.
- Professional with strong interpersonal skills and a focus on the team
- A track record of offering reliable technical support and fixing issues.
- Able to make decisions in an uncertain environment
- Responsiveness to changing conditions and special circumstances.
- Demonstrated independence, capacity to manage one's own work schedule and deliverables, and attention to detail
- Written and verbal communication skills that are fluid
- Excellent written and verbal English
- Microsoft Office, MS Word, and MS Excel proficiency
- Developing expertise in humanitarian medical logistics with international NGOs.

- English, French, Kirundi, and Kinyarwanda language proficiency
- Working knowledge of remote health facilities, preferably in refugee contexts.
- Excellent understanding of the legal rights of patients and medical professionals.

CHILD PROTECTION:
This role is at Level 3 of child protection: Due to their work with national programs, the post holder will frequently (e.g., once per week or more) or extensively (e.g., four days in a row or more) interact with children and/or young people. Or because they are participating in international exchange programs; or because they are in charge of hiring workers after a thorough police check.
