1. Job Title: Strategic Content Coordination Assistant – Digital Production Coordinator

Vacancy Announcement: KIGALI- 2023-023R 

The Embassy of the United States of America in Kigali is recruiting for Strategic Content Coordination Assistant – Digital Production Coordinator position. The position is open to All Interested Candidates/All Sources and available to start immediately. 

Duties:

The Strategic Content Coordination Assistant (Digital Production Coordinator (DPC) is responsible for the production of all visual and multimedia elements of Mission public engagement, including the design, creation, and acquisition of customized visual and multimedia content that is disseminated online, in person, or via traditional broadcast channels. Additionally, the Digital Production Coordinator (DPC) creates compelling visual content for all Mission outreach materials by assessing visual aspects of the Rwandan media environment, public preferences for visual content formats and dissemination channels, and the impact of Mission visual materials. 

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

  • EXPERIENCE:  Five (5) years of experience is required in digital marketing, advertising, or mass communications, including design or multimedia content creation. Must have experience as an advanced end-user of industry standard desktop and mobile software applications.

(Note: Candidates who advance will have to provide samples of original work demonstrating visual and multimedia design competence.)

Education Requirements:

  • An associate’s degree or two years of full-time university studies in Design, Advertising, Mass Communications, or local equivalent is required.

Evaluations:

  • LANGUAGE: Fluency of English and Kinyarwanda is required. (This may be tested).

2. Job Title: Carpenter

Vacancy Announcement: KIGALI-2024-001

The Embassy of the United States of America in Kigali is recruiting for Carpenter position. The position is open to All Interested Candidates/All Sources and available to start immediately. 

Duties

Working in the Facility Management section of the Embassy, the Carpentry Maintenance Worker carries out scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance and repair work on finish and interior assemblies, furnishings and fixtures in all mission buildings and facilities including residential owned and leased properties. Job holder would repair, adjust and install doors, windows, hardware, wall, ceiling and floor coverings, sunshades and blinds; fixed furnishings; painting of various surfaces; and replacement specified glazing products with required installation materials.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

  • EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of building assemblies, furnishings, and fixture operations. 

Education Requirements:

  • Completion of secondary school is required and/or completion of vocational training from an accredited institute recognized as producing journeyman level technicians with a concentration in carpentry is required.

Evaluations:

  • LANGUAGE:  Limited Knowledge of English and Good working Knowledge of Kinyarwanda is required. (This may be tested).

Duties

Under the direct supervision of the Consular Chief, the Consular Associate is assigned a wide range of responsibilities in the American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit, Nonimmigrant Visa (NIV) Unit, Immigrant Visa Unit, and Fraud Prevention Unit (FPU). The jobholder provides consular services to U.S. citizens, conducts non-adjudicatory visa processing, and assists in investigation and validation studies. Incumbent also handles correspondence with the public, attorneys, U.S. and host governments, Congress, and other parties. Must be able to secure and maintain a Secret level security clearance.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

  • EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years of office administrative experience is required with at least one year of consular experience.

Education Requirements:

  • Completion of High School is required.
