New Vision Veterinary Hospital (NVVH) is a private company operating two veterinary clinics and a clinical and research laboratory.? The main clinic is located in Musanze District, Northern Province. It consists of a laboratory and a large animal clinic.?? The clinic in Kigali specialises in small animal medicine and offers high international standards of diagnosis and treatment.? Our facilities offer a range of services including internal medicine, major and minor surgery including orthopaedics, hospitalisation and much more.??NVVH is known for its excellent medical standards and high work ethics.

NVVH is seeking to recruit a VETERINARIAN (m/f) for our head office in Musanze.??

Key responsibilities and duties?

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high quality medical care to our animal patients and excellent customer service to our clients. The Veterinarian will be expected to perform a wide range of clinical and administrative duties and maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting consultations (large and small animals), medical anamnesis, assessment and clinical examinations to diagnose medical problems in animal patients.
  2. Carry out laboratory tests including hematology, biochemistry and microscopy to assist in the diagnosis of medical conditions.
  3. Use diagnostic imaging and ultrasound tests to further evaluate and diagnose patients.
  4. Perform surgical procedures, dress and treat wounds and prescribe medication as required.
  5. Ensuring the medical welfare of hospitalised patients, including daily clinical checks.
  6. Promoting preventative care by advocating and administering routine vaccinations and educating clients.
  7. Conducting home and field visits for our large animal clients and spay/neuter projects.
  8. Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies and procedures.
  9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
  10. Preparation of invoices for services rendered to clients.
  11. Assist in the training of students and maintain a clean and organised work environment.
  12. Give regular lectures on veterinary subjects to the best of their ability.
  13. Work together with technicians when necessary as well as lecturing them in case if needed
  14. Be available and flexible for holiday, weekend and night shifts as required.

NVVH will provide a detailed induction procedure for the necessary and required tasks as well as ongoing training to ensure the high standard of the clinic. This training will be provided by Rwandan and International specialists in their field.

Essential Criteria & Qualifications:?

  • Languages: Excellent knowledge of English, French and Kinyarwanda
  • Education: Only individuals who can submit
    • a Doctor degree in Veterinary Medicine,
    • a RCVD registration certificate and
    • a valid work license will be accepted
  • Motorcycle and car driving license would be an advantage
  • Ability to multi-task, be stress-resistant and organised?
  • A general love and compassion for animals is an absolute MUST as well as a basic understanding of animal welfare.
  • Work experience: minimum 3 years ?
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a good team player?
