CONTEXT
- Reports to the Brewery Manager.
- The Maintenance Engineer, Automation engineer and Civil Works Team Leader directly report to the EM. ·
- Accountable for all interfaces within maintenance and between the maintenance department and other departments within the brewery.
- Main stakeholder is the customer of maintenance (i.e. operations).
PURPOSES
Managing the maintenance & engineering department in a safe and efficient way; i.e. with the focus on creating and/or sustaining a safe environment to work in and restoring the assets to basic condition while improving overall reliability.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
SAFETY, FOOD SAFETY & SUSTAINABILITY
Ensures safe working in maintenance (is accountable) and Leads Safety diagnostics based in safety reports and inspections.
QUALITY
Ensures maintenance delivers on time in full (OTIF) and with the required quality, Supports Instruments Calibration process.
WORK PROCESSES
- Leads the maintenance and engineering department, Leads supplier/contractor management (sets up MSA/SLA).
- Defines sourcing strategy and Drives asset performance and manages, monitors, and analyses the maintenance costs.
- Manages AM support together with the production HOD's.
- Contributes to AM support policy and Implements.
- Hands over project deliverables to AM teams
- Ensure effectiveness of breakdown support teams (MTTR).
- Informs Brewery Manager of major breakdowns and is responsible for the maintenance RCFA process.
- Hands over project deliverables to PM teams (troubleshooting guides).
- Defines and trains BDA, MSA (minor stops analysis), RCFA (5 why) methodology.
- Ensures warranties process is followed. Approves procurement of parts and services.
- Supports asset permit (license to operate). Supports strategic supplier management and evaluation.
- Validates the Long (3YP) and medium (annual overhauls) maintenance master plan.
- Supports and improves Predictive Maintenance.
- Co-defines and drives the CAPEX projects and modifications within maintenance focused on increasing asset performance.
ORGANIZATION, INTERFACES & PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Leads the entire maintenance & engineering department.
- Aligns the organization to capability framework for Advanced and develops a plan to close any gaps.
- Accountable for performance and technical development (incl. performance reviews) of entire maintenance organization.
- Manages workforce and capacity in maintenance, including training, skill profiles, skill certificates and out/in sourcing.
- Aligns with production manager (and reports to brewery manager).
- Accountable for all interfaces within maintenance and between the maintenance department and other departments within the brewery.
- Represents Maintenance in the Production Meetings.
- Executes the Leadership PM (MYR and EYR).
TPM & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
- Defines and drives the maintenance strategy, i.e. installing required foundation organization, setting up the strategic maintenance plan, establishing basic standards, restoring all equipment to basic condition and ensuring AM step 1-3 are implemented.
- Interprets and clarifies the key strategic drivers as defined in the Leadership Pillar.
- Defines roles and responsibilities based upon the capability framework, including support of AM and PM roll out and plan to close the gaps.
- Establishes the functional competency of the maintenance (and operations) team in the use of basic maintenance systems and tools.
INFORMATION & DATA MANAGEMENT
- Implements the management system and ensures the CMMS in functional and in place.
- Governs asset- and spare parts master data (is accountable).
- Monitors the maintenance KPI dashboard and uses this to report and control the maintenance department.
CRITICAL EXPERIENCES AND COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND BEHAVIOURS)
- Minimum Bachelor, preferably MSc degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering and/or similar.
EXPERIENCE
- 4 years management experience, preferably in a technical/operational surrounding.
- Proven track record in people management (getting things done within a group/team).
- Ambassador for enabling a safe and quality-controlled working environment (leads by example).
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience & knowledge of maintenance (engineering) and/or operations, also from a strategic point of view: ability to setup and drive (strategic) improvement initiatives and manage changes from the shop floor within the department.
- Enabler to effectively work together between different directly related departments (i.e. procurement, operations, finance).
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE
- Mastered all required skill, knowledge, and experience for EM on foundation level.
- Highly experienced in managing and controlling the core work processes within maintenance, i.e. workflow (maintenance job life cycle) management, maintenance engineering, materials & parts supply, inventory management, asset master data management and cost management.
- Ability to effectively show/visualize the added value of maintenance (advanced) activities in relation to improving maintenance performance (can explain the required strategy to the team and other departments and create buy-in).
- Ample knowledge of TPM and RCM. Ability to see the bigger picture in multi-year maintenance strategic development (i.e. prepare for next level of maintenance excellence).
