JOB TITLE: INFORMATION SECURITY ENGINEER
Purpose of the Job
The Information Engineer Security Ocer is responsible for ensuring appropriate security controls and policies are applied to the day-to-day operations of EBRL to safeguard digital les and vital electronic infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Conduct scheduled upgrades and maintenance of rewall to conceal condential information during transmission and to keep out tainted digital transfers.
- Communicate systems threats and attempted attacks to users to enhance vigilance against such attempts.
- Make new rules and add users to the system according to set policies and in compliance with set levels of approval to protect the networks and systems of the bank.
- Administer network and system monitoring tools and report attempted attacks to inform recommendations on further mitigation measures.
- Administer network security tools to prevent attacks on the bank's network and system infrastructure.
- Review violations of computer security procedures and discuss procedures with violators to ensure violations are not repeated, to increase knowledge and compliance to violation policy.
- Monitor current reports of computer viruses to determine when to update the virus protection systems
- Modify computer security les to incorporate new software, correct errors, or change individual access status according to set policy and approval levels to ensure the bank is continuously protected.
- Train users and promote security awareness to ensure system security and to improve server and network eciency.
- Document computer security and emergency measures policies, procedures, and tests. To ensure all IT related activities are guided by policies.
- Any other responsibility that may be assigned to you by your line supervisors.
Qualification, Experience, Skills, and Core competencies
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or any other relevant degree
- Major in Network or Information Security (added value)
- Organizational skills
- Innovation ability
- Ability to work under pressure
- Knowledge of relevant nancial services and IT legislation,
- Knowledge of professional standards.
