BI ANALYTICS & MODELLING ENGINEER
The BI & Data Modeling Engineer plays a critical role in the development, maintenance, and optimization of the bank's data warehousing solutions. They are responsible for designing and implementing scalable and ecient data warehouse architectures to support business intelligence, analytics, and reporting requirements of the bank.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
1. Data Modeling and Warehousing:
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specications.
- Design and develop data models and dimensional schemas to support business intelligence and reporting requirements.
- Create and optimize data structures and performance for analytical queries.
2. ETL Development:
- Develop Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes to extract data from various source systems, transform it according to business rules, and load it into the data warehouse.
- Implement data cleansing, data validation, and error handling procedures to ensure data quality and integrity.
3. Data Integration:
- Integrate data from disparate sources such as core banking systems, CRM platforms, and external data sources into the data warehouse.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines to automate the ingestion and processing of data.
4. Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
- Monitor and optimize the performance of the data warehouse, including query optimization, index tuning, and partitioning strategies.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure timely and ecient data retrieval and processing.
5. Data Governance and Security:
- Implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and data privacy standards.
- Implement security measures to protect sensitive data stored in the data warehouse, including encryption, access controls, and data masking.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
- Document data warehouse architecture, data models, ETL processes, and data dictionaries.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools to provide insights into key performance metrics and trends.
7. Business Requirements Gathering:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and prioritize requirements for business intelligence solutions.
- Translate business requirements into technical specications and data models to guide development efforts.
8. Data Analysis and Visualization:
- Analyze and interpret complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to the banking business.
- Develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to communicate ndings eectively to stakeholders.
9. Data Governance and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies, regulatory requirements, and data privacy standards.
- Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure data condentiality and integrity.
- Submit Daily and monthly BNR Report submitted on time.
10. Training and Support:
- Provide training and support to business users on using business intelligence tools and accessing analytical reports and dashboards.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on business intelligence best practices and methodologies.
11. Any other responsibility that may be assigned to you by your line supervisors.
Candidate’s Qualifications, Skills, Attributes and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 2 years experience
- Proficiency in business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView is added value.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling techniques, and SQL.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work eectively with business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Knowledge of banking operations, products, and regulatory requirements is preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure.
