About You and the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Systems Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. You will have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems and infrastructure. You will be a strategic thinker with a passion for technology and a commitment to excellence in building and scaling great infrastructure that supports smooth product releases and champions performance, reliability, and security.

What you will do:

  • Support with designing, implementing, and maintaining our growing hardware and software network, firewalls, and server infrastructure.
  • Oversee and monitor all deployed systems and infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure business continuity.
  • Design, deploy, and manage complex systems, ensuring they meet business requirements and performance goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate application performance to identify potential bottlenecks, collaborate on solutions, and work with developers to implement fixes.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to evaluate and select hardware, software, and services that meet organizational needs.
  • Implement and maintain security protocols to protect systems and data. Perform regular security assessments and audits.
  • Develop and maintain custom scripts to enhance system efficiency and minimize manual intervention.
  • Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure availability and reliability.
  • Lead and participate in various IT projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
  • Monitor and observability to proactively identify long-term trends for capacity planning, detect outages, service degradations, and bugs, and expedite issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with vendors and other IT personnel to troubleshoot issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.

You will be a great fit if you have:

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems, applications, and related products.
  • Proven hands-on experience managing and administrating NGFWs from different vendors - Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper, Sophos, F5, etc.
  • Network certifications from hardware vendors, such as CCNA, CCNP, etc., are a plus.
  • Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP).
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools. Knowledge of Grafana, Prometheus, and Nagios is a plus.
  • Experience in programming with Python or shell scripting is a plus.
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Teamwork skills and the ability to feel comfortable working with different teams and the organisation’s partners.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
  • Solid scripting and Configuration Management skills are good Pluses.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
