The company is looking for competent & experienced candidates to take on the roles of Frontend Software Developer, and Backend Software Developer.

Reports To: Head IT

Job summary

As a frontend software developer, you will play a key role in creating dynamic and visually appealing web and mobile applications. You will maintain and update existing applications. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring a seamless user experience and effective deliver of digital services for SONARWA Life customers. You will be involved in the development process from inception to production and beyond. You are a highly motivated individual, willing to learn and be part of organizational transformation journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the design and architecture of new services.
• Review, optimize and re-architect existing applications – both internal and external.
• Write clean, efficient, enterprise grade and production ready code.
• Work in a cross functional team with other developers, project managers and heads of departments.
• Maintain documentation of services developed.
• Participate in different team ceremonies – standup, planning, retrospective sessions, and code reviews.
• Contribute to the overall improvement of the software development and deployment processes – CI/CD.

Academic qualifications

• A Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or another related field.

Required Skills and Competences

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a frontend developer.
• Solid knowledge of CSS, HTML, JavaScript and at least one framework – React.js, Angular or Nextjs.
• API Design and development of web service technologies such as REST, or JSON.
• A mastery of understanding of design concepts, software development, and testing.
• In-depth knowledge of one backend language or framework database will be highly regarded.
• Experience writing secure APIs.
• Must be very collaborative and enjoy working in a paired development environment where our communication within our team is critical to our success.
• Experience working with Agile Methodologies.
• Experience with Enterprise Architecture, Service Oriented and/or Micro Service Architecture.
• Understanding of Computer Science concepts including Data Structures, Methods, Number Systems, Algorithm Analysis, and Product Development Cycles.
• Experience with SQL and interactions with RDBMS.
• Communication is key to what we do.
• You need to be a collaborative engineer willing to partake in coding/programming sessions with fellow engineers.
• Ability to learn new programming languages.
• Excellent organizational skills.
