PRODUCT MANAGER
The Product Manager is responsibility for identifying new opportunities for developing alternative non-traditional Banking services & products, driving the process from ideation, design to implementation, ensuring Customer’s needs and preferences are met, for customer acquisition, retention, and business growth. Responsibilities also include improving existing products, identifying critical issues, recommending, and implementing solutions to meet customers’ needs and working eectively with both internal & external stakeholders throughout the product development process to translate business needs into a viable product strategy that ensures the bank's competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Researching and documenting product requirements to ensure products meet business needs, performance objectives, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Overseeing and monitoring all stages of product creation including design, development of concepts, business cases, feasibility reports, securing required approvals, and deployment.
- Development of alternative concepts, innovations and Ecosystem enhancements including new business cases, digital products improvements, and partnership.
- Establish a clear product development process, ensure it is always updated and strictly adhered to.
- Collaborating with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements and nuances.
- Coordinating user testing with internal stakeholders / Departments – as and when required
- Review existing products and make enhancements in order to meet customers’ needs
- Monitoring and providing regular feedback to all internal stakeholders, on the competition, products landscape, plans, pricing and market’s feedback.
- Managing the product backlog and prioritizing them based on changing requirements.
- Ensuring all products and services of the Bank have all required & approved documentation and that these are reviewed as required.
- Conducting training sessions to communicate product features, benets, and performance through formal presentations and written communications.
- Ensure all products are developed and managed in compliance with local and international regulatory standards.
- Stay up-to-date with nancial regulations and make necessary adjustments to products and processes.
- Collaborate with the customer experience team to improve the usability and functionality of our products for customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Qualification, Experience, Skills and Attributes
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field. Other relevant advanced qualifications are a plus.
- At least 2 years of experience in nancial services, technology delivery /fintech and product development in a reputable institution with a minimum of 1 year at supervisory level and a good performance record.
- Profficient in business process mapping, technical writing, and various technologies/frameworks.
- Team player, excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
- Strong knowledge on banking and nancial regulations in Rwanda.
- Profficiency in the use of analytic tools, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent understanding of design quality standards and user-centred design principles.
- Ability to translate customer needs into product features.
- Proven ability to analyse complex business issues, identify, design, and implement effective practical recommendations.
- Can work in a performance driven organization with ability to organize, prioritize and achieve the required results.
- Ability to develop, plan, and implement according to the project plan.
- In-depth understanding of product’s features, pricing, benets, positioning, promotion and risk preventing
- Experience in identifying market trends and market research, with the knowledge of the Rwandan market’s consumers buying behavior and evolving trends
- Practical / proven experience in conceptualizing ideas, drafting products concept papers, developing business cases and successfully implementing products or similar initiatives.
- In-depth knowledge of Scrum and Agile Product delivery Methodology
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
