Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA) is a Public Broadcaster with a mission of "Providing quality content that meets the needs of the audience and promotes cultural values, socioeconomic development and citizen participation". RBA wishes to encourage all qualified, hard working and interested professional candidates to apply for the following positions:

1. JOB TITLE : RADIO PRODUCER/PRESENTER (2 Positions)
JOB DESCRIPTIONS

  • Produce & Present daily Radio programs targeting young audiences,
  • Produce, shoot, and edit content for RBA multiple platforms,
  • Produce & Present outside broadcasts/Radio roadshows,
  • Advise on new programs or updates of current programs,
  • Ensure the shows meet the Production standards in line with RBA editorial policy,
  • Ensure that all legal requirements of production of live broadcasts are closely ob-served,
  • Engage the audiences on social media,
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisors.

JOB PROFILES:

  • Degree in any field with 2 years of experience in related field, or Diploma in Journalism & Communication with 4yrs working experience.

2. JOB TITLE: IT ENGINEER (NETWORK ENGINEER)

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

  • Install/configure/manage/maintain switches, routers, hubs, access points, voice/video/ data systems, and other infrastructure devices.
  • Ensure security posture by maintaining secure configurations/fixes/ encryption.
  • Monitor network performance and perform troubleshooting/restoration actions.
  • Manage/operate/ maintain/monitor/secure data links.
  • Initiate/maintain/manage/document connections/circuits/trunks/equipment.
  • Maintains smooth operation of local area, worldwide, and virtual private networks (VPN).
  • Plans, evaluates, designs, and coordinates installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and /or voice communication network.
  • Maintains technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.
  • Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
  • Provides regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
  • May coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment.
  • May design network or portion of network that includes selection and recommendation of hardware and software packages.
  • Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support to end users.
  • Maintains updated knowledge of industry trends and new technologies and recommend future initiatives

  • Report on the network status and provide recommendation to his immediate supervisor
  • Sign performance contract with Immediate supervisor;
  • Perform other duty assigned by the immediate supervisor.

JOB PROFILES:

  • Degree in Electronics and Telecommunications, Computer Science or any other related field with 2yrs experience in related field

OTHER SKILLS

  • Minimum 2 years of experience performing break fix on enterprise class IP networks
  • Strong troubleshooting skills,
  • Extensive, hands-on experience with IT infrastructure, with a concentration in network-ing; routers, switches, etc.,
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work in critical and emergency situation,
  • Ability to analyze risk and report back to the immediate supervisor,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

3. JOB TITLE: IT SUPPORT

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

  • Provide cleanup, maintenance and part's replacement of the computer desktop environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and supporting the PCs, printers, servers, and related equipment.
  • Provide helpdesk support and resolve problems and support the roll-out of new applications to the end user's satisfaction
  • Set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
  • Log and track support calls in the designated RBA system prioritize and escalate jobs as required to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Identify trends in the support calls and develop documentation to address these most-often reported problems and issues.
  • Notify management of increasing trends, unusual activity or repeated activity.
  • Recommends means for product or system improvements including procedural steps, increased training, and enhanced documentation.
  • Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT department
  • Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems
  • Assist with on boarding of new users
  • Maintain inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses
  • Report issues to the IT department for escalation
  • Manage PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images and software
  • Assign users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory
  • Managing applications, license tracking, and performing PC maintenance, upgrades and configurations.
  • Perform timely workstation computer hardware and software installation and upgrades as required
  • Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment

  • Maintains updated knowledge of industry trends and new technologies and recommend future initiatives
  • Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets; monitoring ex-penses.
  • Report on the IT system status and provide recommendations to his immediate supervisor
  • Sign performance contract with Immediate supervisor;
  • Perform other duty assigned by the immediate supervisor.

JOB PROFILES:

  • Degree in Electronics and Telecommunications, Computer Science or any other related field with 2yrs experience in related field

OTHER SKILLS

  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Extensive, hands-on experience with IT software and hardware infrastructure,
  • Methodical, accurate, confidentiality and consistent attention to detail
  • Demonstrates accuracy and proficiency in use of computer and software programs used by the institution.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work in critical and emergency situation
  • Ability to analyze risk and report back to the immediate supervisor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

4. JOB TITLE: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

  • Preparing correspondences, receiving visitors, and scheduling meetings for the super-visor;
  • Coordinate and organize department meetings and conferences,
  • Complete and file internal and external correspondences, legal documents, form letters and other documents,
  • Prepare meeting agendas, record and distribute meeting minutes, and maintain organized files of the same;
  • Prepare detailed presentations and reports as required by the supervisor;
  • Ensure the safeguarding of all confidential files;
  • Coordinate and complete department communiqués to internal and external clients;
  • Follow up and see out the implementation of various action oriented areas/focus points initiated by the supervisor;
  • Proof reading the documents before they are signed,
  • Sieving the incoming documents and act in accordance to RBA's work flow,
  • Proactively correspond with RBA clients/partners in a more corporate and professional manner.

JOB PROFILES:

  • Degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Social science, Public relations, Journalism & communication or any other related field

5. JOB TITLE : PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

  • Participate in preparation of draft both initial Procurement plan and revised procurement plan in accordance with existing public procurement rules and regulations;
  • Receive and review tender requests from user departments of related planned tender documents;
  • Respond to enquiries from bidders in timely manner;
  • Participate in contract negotiations exercise when necessary;
  • Participate in preparation, advertisement and follow up on opening and evaluation of tenders when necessary;
  • Participate in public tender Committee meetings with draft working documents to be reviewed by the committee where necessary;
  • Draft contracts complying to specific rules and regulations in collaboration with every contract managers and legal services,
  • Assist his/her peers in monitoring the execution of procurement contracts in close collaboration with end users departments;
  • Overseeing the entire contract lifecycle, including monitoring contract performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, managing contract amendments, extensions and provide feedback on recommended action,

JOB PROFILES:

  • Degree in any field with 2yrs experience in Procurement or Logistics.

OTHER SKILLS

  • Practical experience in use of e-procurement system with proof of experience from current or previous employer (s);
  • Membership to the Association of Procurement professionals in Rwanda will be an added advantage,
  • Full or partial Professional Certification in Procurement will be an added advantage,

6. JOB TITLE : SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETER
JOB DESCRIPTIONS

  • Provide sign-language interpretation services to translate shows and news on Rwanda Television or in other instances,
  • Interpret discussions, conversations, meetings, events, and other spoken word situations using Sign Language,
  • Work effectively in teams with other sign language interpreters,
  • Maintain awareness of best practices, emerging trends and new legislation relating to Sign Language/Interpreting functional area,
  • Attend the workplace regularly, report to work punctually and follow a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite. Working hours may include evenings, holidays or weekends depending on deadline requirements and special events.

JOB PROFILES

  • A1 in any field,
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in sign language interpretation,
  • Sign Language certificate from Rwanda National Union of the Deaf (RNUD),
  • Recommendation letter from RNUD signed by the Chairperson or the Executive Director

OTHER SKILLS

  • Demonstrated excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to work independently,
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community,
  • Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English, knowledge of French is an added advantage.
