Title             :         Chemical Operator

Reports to    :         Assistant Greenkeeper

Education level   :  Degree or diploma in agriculture or horticulture

Kigali Golf Resort & Villas' clubhouse is undergoing improvements to become one of the continent's top facilities. The clubhouse will eventually include a health club, tennis and squash courts, a swimming pool, and seven shops.

In order to mix and apply chemicals/pesticides like herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides through sprays, dusts, vapors, soil incorporation, or chemical application over all parts of the golf course, we are searching for a qualified chemical operator.

Specific Responsibilities - include but are not limited to: 

• Identifies nutrient inadequacies and pest issues including weeds, illnesses, and insects and aids in their diagnosis.
• Applying fertilizer and insecticides while following instructions and measuring loads quantitatively.
• Disposes of extra chemicals and containers properly and safely.
• Calibrates pesticide and fertilizer applicators on a regular basis.
• Adhere to advised safety precautions and maintain the necessary activity logs.

Knowledge, Skills and Traits 

• Training and practical expertise in the identification of pests and diseases, features of fertilizers and pesticides, related safety measures, equipment calibration, and record-keeping.
• Computer literacy.
• Agricultural or horticultural degree or diploma
