Job Description

Title             :         Cleaning Supervisor

Reports to    :         Support Director

Education level    :   High School Diploma or equivalent required

Kigali Golf Resort & Villas' clubhouse is undergoing improvements to become one of the continent's top facilities. The clubhouse will eventually include a health club, tennis and squash courts, a swimming pool, and seven shops.

Cleaning managers carry out a variety of tasks, but their primary responsibility is to supervise employees to ensure that cleaning services are delivered in an efficient and effective manner.

Cleaning managers make sure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the facility, which may be a hotel, by supervising, training, and inspecting the work of designated room and floor personnel.

When assistance is required, they offer it to make sure certain visitors receive the best possible care.

Specific Responsibilities - include but are not limited to:

  • Directing and inspiring a group of cleaners
  • Manage your inventory of supplies and spare parts.
  • Make that personnel are outfitted and trained appropriately for their position.
  • Employ and educate workers in the newest cleaning techniques while giving guidance and oversight as needed. Ensure that all equipment is secure to use and in good working order.
  • Oversee all performance management developments and escalations
  • Supervising the work of the cleaning crew
  • Conduct toolbox discussions and safety briefings.
  • Work together with clients to make sure there are no issues on the job site
  • Maintain regular dialogue, cooperation, and engagement with the front office and other departments.
  • Help keep a workforce that is highly motivated and dedicated to providing excellent service and keeping the facility clean.
  • Effectively clean clients' residences in accordance with company and client standards
  • Ensure that all employee work is completed to the company's and the client's requirements on the designated site.
  • Have a discussion with clients on the time of the appointment and the duration of the cleaning
  • Drive the team's official vehicle to each destination while carrying supplies.
  • Ensure that at the conclusion of the day, all keys, codes, and payments are returned to the office. Payments must be collected in a professional manner. Display a cheerful attitude and set a good example for your coworkers.
  • By consistently coaching and rerouting performance, ensure that all employees adhere to business requirements.
  • To guarantee that daily transportation of supplies such as china, glass, and silverware to work locations.
  • To organize temporary workers as needed and make sure they are properly monitored.
  • To manage and store all paper, cleaning, and dishwashing supplies, as well as any additional storage facilities needed.
  • To support the executive chef in all designated areas as necessary or without the help of other workers.
  • Should always follow and uphold the hotel's fire, health, and safety rules and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Traits

Education: A2 or it's equivalent

  • Knowledge: Practical experience and thorough familiarity with the use of cleaning tools, solutions, and materials (COSHH).
  • Having managerial and supervisory experience, being able to supervise and evaluate the work of other employees and giving new hires instruction or direction
  • Adroitness on the body: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., stand for more than an hour, and bend at the knees and waist is required. Agility and high physical condition are also requirements. The work requires a lot of walking, some sitting, and stair climbing.
  • A focus on the details possess an eye for detail and precision; be careful and thorough
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess the capacity to multitask and manage your time
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to function well both individually and in a collaborative environment.
