1. Job Title: Forest Management Specialist
Job responsibilities
-
Elaborate forest management policies and legal instruments
-
Conduct the review and update of forest management policies and legal instruments
-
Provide technical advice on matters related to the proper forest resource protection mechanisms;
-
Ensure coordination and follow up of strategic actions and initiatives related to forest resource protection;

Assess all forest management issues and propose timely the feedback and comments to the Ministry's Authorities;

Contribute to digitalization, packaging and dissemination of forest related data and information

Work with different institutions to promote forest conservation;

Initiate and develop project proposals for funds mobilization,

Contribute/lead/coordinate different studies, consultancies, surveys, assessments assigned in forest management subsector;

Attend courses to continuously up grade and acquire required skills

Establish and operate a national database for forestry;

Build synergies between management of forestry and other natural resources (land, water, environment etc)

Use satellite imagery, cloud computing, machine learning, scripting, programming, algorithms advanced GIS and new technologies to monitor the forest cover

Contribute to the positioning of forestry subsector to carbon market

Propose measures to manage forestry for mitigation and adaptation to climate change effects

2. Job Title: Pollution and Waste Policy Specialist
Job responsibilities

Elaborate the development of pollution control policies and legislations

Conduct the review and update of pollution control policies and legislations

Provide technical advice on matters related to the proper pollution control mechanisms;

Monitor activities pertaining to the installation or construction of pollution source & control facilities to ensure compliance with the National Emission Standards for Source Specific Air Pollutants, National Ambient Air Quality Standards, Effluent Discharge, & report monitoring results.

Monitor the general use of chemicals, with particular attention on those listed under the provisions of Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEA);

Monitor the importation or distribution of chemicals and the generation of solid and hazardous wastes;

Make follow ups and ensure that hazardous wastes Treatment Storage & Disposal (TSD) facilities are properly operated & maintained;

Job responsibilities

Develop and disseminate environmental training modules and capacity building programs for different institutions in charge of environment management and development

Develop and update programs, guidelines and tools for integration of environment in formal and informal education programs
-
Design and develop a variety of materials and activities that enhance public awareness, educate citizens to relevant environmental issues,
-
Liaise with businesses, community groups and other local organisations in environment management and sensitisation

Provide technical support to integrate environment in curriculum development.

7. Job Title: Administrative Assistant
Job responsibilities

Provide assistance to the implementation of the project activities, namely develop, support and assist with the organization of activities of the project including seminars, workshops, training sessions.
