THE POSITION OF A SCHOOL COUNSELOR (DISCIPLINE MASTER)
Job Description:
A new generation of servant leaders will be produced by Wellspring Academy, a worldwide Christian school, with the aim of blessing Rwanda and showcasing its best qualities to the rest of the world. A discipline in charge is currently being hired by the school.
The goal of the school is to prepare its students to serve as highly competent, obedient leaders and agents of social change.
The school is looking to hire a counselor who will collaborate closely with instructors to advise, guide, and shape the character of kids.
The nature and scope of a discipline's job
- Together with the teachers, promote and uphold the school's ambiance of peace and order.
- New students at Wellspring Academy are orientated, guided, and informed of the expectations and school culture;
- Provide guidance on matters relating to students' behavior in accordance with current policies to the leadership team, staff, and parents.
- Review, revise, and create regulations that will assist the Wellspring Academy community in developing Christ-centered character.
- Conduct additional research or study to help students behave better; handle discipline-related concerns brought up by instructors and parents; and suggest potential remedies.
- Keep track of pupils who may require discipline advice in your records.
- Make sure that the rights of students are upheld and respected in the educational environment.
Specific responsibilities:
- Give advice to the principal of the school when he or she is deciding on student and staff discipline.
- aid the principal in creating a code of conduct for the school that emphasizes building character;
- Manage administrative issues pertaining to student disciplinary measures.
- Create and oversee a team for student conduct planning and development with a focus on the school community's goals.
- synchronize all activities carried out by the school discipline committee.
- Attend additional meetings of the functional team to verify that the demands of school discipline are met.
- To support the school administration in creating any behavioral programs and rules of conduct considered necessary,
Reporting
- The discipline master (school counselor) answers directly to the school principal.
Professional Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an approved higher education institution in education, school counseling, school psychology, or a license in clinical psychology or professional clinical counseling.
Expected knowledge and abilities:
- At least TWO years of experience performing comparable duties at an international school.
- A minimum of FOUR years' experience teaching in a global program, with CIE recommended.
- Practical knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- English language proficiency is necessary.

Employment agreement
After successfully completing the first year, which includes a three-month probationary term, the employment contract is for a full-time employee for an open-ended length of time.
