THE POSITION OF A CAMBRIDGE COORDINATOR AND CIE EXAMS OFFICER
Job Description:
A new generation of servant leaders will be produced by Wellspring Academy, a worldwide Christian school, with the aim of blessing Rwanda and showcasing its best qualities to the rest of the world. Both a Cambridge Coordinator and a CIE Examinations Officer are currently being hired by the school.
This person is anticipated to work well with a variety of students, be knowledgeable about research-based teaching strategies, and actively strive to join our learning community.

responsibilities and obligations
- Covers the academic curricula for the Cambridge secondary One, Advanced subsidiary (AS), and Advanced level exams for the General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).
- oversee the management and processing of syllabus entries on the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CIE) direct examinations website.
- Plan for the Cambridge exams, finalize the seating arrangements, keep an eye on the applicants during the exam, and make sure that anyone who need special consideration is taken care of in accordance with Cambridge policies and expectations.
- serve as the main point of contact for Wellspring Academy's discussions and updates with the testing organization (Cambridge Assessment International Education).
- Inform the institution of Cambridge Assessment International Education's professional development seminars that Wellspring Academy instructors can attend to advance their careers.
- Inform subject teachers of modifications made by Cambridge Assessment International Education to the curriculum and its components.
- Manage candidates' results on the Cambridge website by giving them login information for their results and providing them with further assistance for any questions that may arise.
- Assist candidates with the appeals procedure and provide clarifications for any potential cases.
- Ensure that all packages from Cambridge Assessment International Education are received and that couriers (examinations) are sent to Cambridge.
- At Wellspring Academy, invigilators are trained on how to organize or supervise exams in a professional manner.
- Enter information on the candidates taking tests during a specific session, the internally assessed components (marks), the predicted or anticipated grades for all students, etc.
- oversee all international exam-related activities between Wellspring Academy and Cambridge Assessment International Education.
- Consult and work well with parents, guardians, educators, administrators, and other community and educational resources on students with needs and issues that have been identified.
Reporting
A CIE exams officer and a coordinator for Cambridge exams answer directly to the school principal.
Professional Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in education is necessary, while a master's degree is desirable.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a teacher in a Cambridge-system international school, or as a Cambridge Coordinator or academic advisor.
Expected knowledge and abilities:
- A MINIMUM of TWO years' experience carrying out comparable duties in a global program; CIE recommended.
- A CIE-preferable minimum of FOUR years of teaching experience with pertinent Cambridge professional training for instruction and evaluation in an international program.
- Practical knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- English language proficiency is necessary.

Employment agreement
After successfully completing the first year, which includes a three-month probationary term, the employment contract is for a full-time employee for an open-ended length of time.
