- Job Title: A330 B1/B2 Engineer
- Reports to: Shift Supervisor
- Department: Maintenance & Engineering
- Duty Station: Kigali International Airport (KIA)
Job Purpose
A qualified employee reporting to the shift supervisor, the Line A330 B1 or B2 Engineer is in charge of aircraft line maintenance and aircraft release to service. As appointed by the shift supervisor, the line engineer serves as the overall team leader during line maintenance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performing both regular and unscheduled line maintenance tasks, and seeing that the aircraft is returned to service once maintenance has been carried out in accordance with technical data that has been authorized;
- Planning and coordinating daily activities, as well as making sure that the necessary tools, equipment, and spare parts are on hand for maintenance tasks;
- Conducting airplane defect repair and ensuring that problems are fixed;
- Recommending the necessary tools, equipment, and technical information to carry out line maintenance activities;
- Reviewing departmental practices for line maintenance and suggesting changes as appropriate;
- Creating reports on equipment and operations that allow for examination and ongoing development;
- Creating a culture of safety at work for line maintenance;
- Responding to internal and external auditors' audits;
- Completing all necessary paperwork and checklists for line maintenance, as well as pertinent maintenance documents;
Desired Profile: Required education, Experience, and Abilities
- Possess at least 8 years of experience working on A330s, with 2 years of that experience being spent performing line maintenance.
Have at least one of the following qualifications
- Hold a B1 or B2 category aircraft engineer license for the A330
- Possess a degree, diploma, or certificate in engineering from one of the following disciplines: avionics, mechanical, electrical, or electronics.
Have the following knowledge:
- Thorough understanding of the laws and requirements governing aircraft airworthiness
- The sections in organization manuals pertinent to maintaining airplanes;
- The quality control system for engineering and aircraft maintenance;
- Talents in system and computer analysis.
