Advert – CP/CRG MEAL Officer
About the Role:
The largest independent child rights group in the world, Save the Children (SC), was founded on the principle that every child has the right to survival, protection, growth, and participation in society. Our goal is to bring about immediate and long-lasting change in the way the world views and treats children.
Under the direction of the Head of MEAL, the CP/CRG MEAL Officer will be in charge of making sure that the Rwanda Country Humanitarian Program's Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability system is developed and implemented effectively.
Qualifications and experience
- Ideally education background in one of the following areas, including gender equality, conflict sensitivity, climate change, and child right programming. Bachelor's degree in any Social Sciences
- A minimum of three years' experience in advocacy programming for inclusive civic space, child agency, and child rights in local or international NGOs,
- Demonstrated expertise in monitoring, evaluating, holding others accountable for, and learning from child-focused programs;
- Strong advocacy monitoring and documenting abilities and policy influencing arena experience;
- The capacity to produce and document program adjustments and impacts using reliable technologies;
- Knowledge of executing and attaining meaningful interventions in alignment with child programming by mentoring and coaching partner CSOs;
- Good knowledge and practical experience with any of the following digital data collection platforms, such as Survey CTO and Kobo Toolbox;
- Interesting proficiency with STATA and/or SPSS for data analysis;
- Knowledge of creating program dashboards and using digital tools like infographics to visualize data;
- Experience using data to produce managerial answers to further implement recommendations from study and assessment;
- Abilities to create project logframes and the capacity to use performance indicator reference sheets to direct the program team on high-quality program activity delivery;
- Demonstrated proficiency in outcomes-based reporting through demonstration of program impacts;
- A solid understanding of how to use program data to shape policy agendas and promote the creation of policies that support children's rights;
- Knowledge of data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of extraordinary quality;
- Knowledge of the security of the personal data stored in the proper e-filing systems for program beneficiaries;
- Internet and office software proficiency, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to forge amicable and productive working relationships both inside and outside the business while working in a multicultural environment.
- A solid command of written and spoken English, as well as fluency in French and Kinyarwanda;
- Politically and culturally sensitive with attributes of patience, tact and diplomacy
- The ability and inclination to act with extraordinary flexibility and composure under challenging and occasionally precarious professional conditions.

We work locally in more than 100 countries and employ almost 25,000 people worldwide to assist children who are in need of improved healthcare, education, and child protection or who are affected by crises. Additionally, we advocate and agitate at the highest levels to recognize children's rights and make sure their voices are heard.
By 2030, we hope to achieve three breakthroughs in how the world views children:
- Before turning five, no child dies from preventable causes.
- An excellent foundational education benefits all students.
- Children's abuse is no longer acceptable.
