About RSSB

The responsibility for overseeing and advancing social security in Rwanda falls on the Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB). The National Strategy for Transformation (NST1) and Vision 2050 are both essential goals that RSSB works toward in order to build a comprehensive social security system that meets the varied social security needs of the populace. Six social security programs are administered by RSSB: Pension, Occupational Hazards, Medical, CBHI, Maternity Benefits, and EjoHeza (Long-term Term Saving Program).

The largest institutional investor in Rwanda is RSSB, a major player in the financial industry. With 1.9 trillion Rwf in assets under management, or 17% of the nation's GDP, RSSB makes investments in significant economic sectors and is essential in supplying up to 20% of the financial sector's liquidity. With almost to 90% of Rwanda's population represented by the aforementioned six schemes' approximately 12 million members, RSSB is at the forefront of ensuring the health and financial security of Rwandans.
