In-flight catering services are offered to scheduled airlines, private jets, and charters by RwandAir Catering Ltd, a rapidly expanding company in Rwanda that began operations in August 2014. In a few years, RwandAir Catering Ltd. hopes to rank among the biggest aviation catering businesses in Africa. 

We are seeking an enthusiastic, qualified, committed, and competent candidate to apply for the position listed below as part of our plan.

Job Purpose:

Repairing broken or damaged electrical components, setting up new systems and equipment, and performing regular maintenance on all RwandAir Catering trucks are the three primary responsibilities of an automobile electrician.

All company trucks and vans must be monitored, controlled, and maintained by the automotive electrical technician. Auto electricians repair all the electrical parts and accessories in a car, including the headlights, anti-theft alarms, GPS units, air conditioning systems, central locking, digital dashboard displays, electric wing mirrors, and electric seats. They also work on the battery, starter motor, alternator, fuse box, wiring, and connectors.

He or she must possess in-depth understanding of contemporary automotive electrical systems, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to resolve challenging electrical issues in order to be successful as an auto electrician technician. Ultimately, any electrical system in a vehicle may be installed, troubleshooted, and repaired by a top-notch auto electrician.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work alongside a mechanical technician to check and test vehicles, do preventive maintenance such engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotations and changes, wheel balancing, and filter replacements to keep RwandAir Catering Trucks and Vans operational.

  • Updating the wiring systems in vehicles;
  • Installing and repairing alarm and immobilizer systems;
  • Obtaining information from drivers regarding electrical system problems;
  • Identifying electrical problems and suggesting a solution;
  • Fixing and replacing damaged electrical systems or wiring;
  • Maintenance of car electrical components;
  • Servicing and fixing the catering vans' electrical systems;
  • Maintaining a spotless workplace;
  • Processing paperwork and completing job reports;
  • Maintain the vehicle's functionality by paying attention to drivers' complaints, doing inspections, and closely collaborating with mechanical technicians to fix engine problems, fix mechanical and electrical system malfunctions, replace parts, and fix body damage;
  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions while doing routine maintenance and repairs on the company's vehicles and vans;
  • Keep track of all servicing, repairs, and maintenance conducted on all vans and trucks;
  • Inform the line supervisor of any security concerns, safety risks, and incidents that happened during regular business operations for direction;
  • Altering controls and systems, and performing test drives to confirm the vehicle's suitability;
  • Keeps up with timely cleaning and washing of automobiles to maintain vehicle look;
  • Perform truck maintenance using fuel, oil, and radiator fluid;
  • Make sure that all corporate trucks and cars are in possession of current Airside permits, Insurance, and Police Vehicle Inspection licenses or certificates;
  • Teach new employees and loaders how to operate trucks. 

Job Requirements, Education and Experience

  • 'A1' level certificate in automotive mechanics is necessary for the Advanced Diploma in Automobile and Electrical Engineering;
  • Valid B&C category driver's license; a D&E license would be advantageous;
  • Having at least two years of experience performing comparable tasks;
  • The applicant must be younger than 40.
