Job Summary
To support the Bank's communication efforts with the public, financial institutions, governments and policy makers, and other stakeholders, the Bank's economist in charge of corporate communication reports to the manager of corporate communications and is in charge of analyzing economic data, interpreting monetary policies, and providing expert insights.
Key responsibilities
- Work closely with the Monetary Policy and Research Directorate to carry out economic analysis and research that will keep an eye on and evaluate changes in the financial markets as well as trends and indicators in the economy. Give the communications team current information and data-driven insights.
- Contribute to the creation of speeches, papers, and publications that communicate to a variety of stakeholders the economic viewpoints and policy directions of the National Bank of Rwanda.
- Provide accurate and succinct talking points on economic issues to help management get ready for media appearances and outside engagements.
- Analyze the potential effects of national and international economic policies on the nation's monetary and financial stability in close collaboration with the Monetary Policy and Research Directorate.
- Create charts, graphs, and infographics that clearly communicate economic facts, trends, and policy implications using data visualization approaches.
- Support the creation of educational resources and programs that encourage economic literacy among the general public and other stakeholders.
- Provide timely and understandable economic insights during times of economic crisis or noteworthy events so that the communications team may better address the public's questions.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics or a related field with a focus on applied economics, monetary economics, or macroeconomics
- Two(2)years experience in Economics or a related field with a focus on applied economics, monetary economics, or macroeconomics.
