Title: Junior Software Developer

Terms of Reference (ToR) for HISP LTD (HISP Rwanda)

Position Overview:

You will be a vital part of the creation and upkeep of our software programs as a junior software developer. Together with our skilled team of developers, you will develop and improve features, resolve issues, and enhance performance. A motivated person has a fantastic opportunity to obtain practical experience in a supportive and collaborative setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Work together on software application design, development, and implementation with the development team.
  • To convey and illustrate design concepts, create wireframes, prototypes, and design mockups.
  • Follow coding conventions and best practices while producing clear, effective, and maintainable code.
  • Investigate and fix problems, then suggest fixes to enhance the usability and performance of the application.
  • To convert requirements into technical specifications, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams that include product managers and designers.
  • Keep abreast on new software development trends, techniques, and technologies.
  • Software and applications are tested to ensure the greatest functionality.

Requirements:

  1. A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline is required (or an equivalent level of professional experience).
  2. Software or web development experience of at least one year
  3. Through a project of your own, an internship, or an apprenticeship, you have some basic programming experience.
  4. Knowledge of design software like Adobe XD or Figma
  5. React and backend frameworks (Spring Boot,.Net Core, NestJs, F FastAPI, and Laravel) are well-versed in.
  6. Solid programming object-oriented knowledge.
  7. Knowledge of the concepts and best practices of software development.
  8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  9. Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  10. Driven by oneself and keen to progress professionally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous work on software development projects.
  • Knowledge of design software like Adobe XD or Figma is advantageous.
  • Experience with the Spring Boot,.Net Core, and NestJs backend frameworks with React
  • knowledge with database technologies like SQL.
  • Knowledge of version control programs, such as Git.
  • Understanding of agile development techniques.
