Scholarships for Masters Fellowships in 2023–2024
Applicants from Anglophone sub-Saharan African nations accepted into any of the following AERC Collaborative Masters Programme (CMAP) in Economics universities, AERC is pleased to offer the 2023/2024 Masters scholarships:

  • Ethiopia Addis Ababa University
  • College of Botswana
  • Tanzania University of Dar es Salaam
  • Ghana University of Cape Coast
  • University of Nairobi, Kenya
  • University of Ghana, Legon
  • College of Mauritius
  • College of Namibia
  • College of Malawi
  • College of Zimbabwe
  • Makerere University

To be eligible for a scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Possess at least a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent in Economics or a comparable discipline from a recognized institution;
  • Have applied to and been accepted to any of the CMAP universities listed.
  • Women and applicants from post-conflict and fragile states are strongly invited to apply (especially members of the AERC Masters Bridge Programme alumni classes of 2017 and 2018).

Interested candidates must submit their admissions applications directly to the relevant universities (the application process is available on each university's website).

The following documents must be uploaded to the AERC scholarship site after receiving an admissions letter from a particular university: https://training.aercafrica.org/admissionnew 

  • Cover letter
  • Curriculum vitae,
  • Proof of admission at any of the aforementioned colleges,
  • Certified copies of transcripts and certificates.

The scholarship application deadline is May 10, 2023.
