Mission/Core purpose of the Job
The Business Intelligence Apprentice is responsible for delivering integrated, forward-looking business intelligence, performance management, and advanced analytics capabilities to enable data-driven decision-making, revenue acceleration, and operational efficiency within the Enterprise Business Unit (EBU).
The role goes beyond reporting to act as a strategic business partner, translating complex data into commercial insights, predictive intelligence, and actionable recommendations that drive enterprise revenue growth, customer value, and market leadership.
Key Performance Areas
- Own and continuously enhance end-to-end EBU performance dashboards covering revenue, pipeline, funnel conversion, ARPU, retention, and product performance.
- Integrate sales funnel analytics (pipeline → closure → revenue realization) to support enterprise growth.
- Provide variance analysis with clear commercial drivers and risk/opportunity identification.
- Deliver standardized and automated reporting packs for EXCO, Group, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Conduct deep-dive analytics on customer lifecycle, revenue quality, and profitability by segment and solution.
- Identify revenue leakage, upsell/cross-sell opportunities, and pricing optimization levers.
- Lead segmentation and clustering models to refine go-to-market strategies.
- Translate insights into clear commercial actions for Sales and Product teams.
- Design and deliver scalable BI solutions and data models using Power BI, Tableau, and enterprise data platforms.
- Build automated data pipelines and reporting layers (SQL-based) to minimize manual intervention.
- Drive implementation of self-service BI capabilities for business users across EBU.
- Collaborate with Technology/IT to align BI architecture with Group data strategy.
- Maintenance & Enhancement: Maintain, refactor and enhance existing front-end and back-end applications; reduce technical debt and improve stability over time.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Produce and maintain technical documentation, API specifications and configuration notes; share knowledge and contribute to reusable components and team standards.
- Continuous Improvement & Learning: Keep up to date with relevant front-end and back-end technologies, frameworks and tools; proactively propose improvements to code, architecture, processes and developer workflows.
- Develop predictive models for: Revenue forecasting, Churn prediction, Demand and capacity planning
- Introduce machine learning use cases across customer analytics and sales optimization.
- Embed data-driven forecasting into business planning cycles.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and governance of all enterprise data assets.
- Drive establishment of a single, reconciled source of truth for EBU performance.
- Improve data quality through validation frameworks and process automation.
- Track competitor offerings, pricing benchmarks, and enterprise solution trends.
- Analyze macroeconomic and regulatory impacts on enterprise performance.
- Provide data-driven input into:
- Go-to-market strategy
- Product development
- Strategic planning
- Act as a trusted analytics advisor to Sales, Product, Finance, and EBU Leadership.
- Support deal analytics, large contract evaluations, and profitability assessments.
- Provide insight-led support for key enterprise bids and strategic initiatives.
- Translate insights into clear executive narratives for management presentations.
Experience
- Experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Performance Reporting.
- Experience within telecommunications, fintech, or technology-driven industries is preferred.
- Strong experience in SQL, database management, and BI visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with Python, R, machine learning, or big data tools is an added advantage
Education Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, or related field.
