Mission/Core purpose of the Job

Mobile Money Rwanda is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage the organization’s receivables processes. The role is responsible for ensuring timely invoicing, accurate recording of receivables, monitoring outstanding balances, and supporting the collection of payments from partners, merchants, and other stakeholders within the mobile money ecosystem.

Key Performance Areas

  • Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable process including invoicing, recording, and monitoring outstanding receivables.
  • Ensure invoices are issued accurately and on time to partners, merchants, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of receivable balances and payment schedules.
  • Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Coordinate with partners and clients to ensure timely settlement of outstanding invoices.
  • Follow up on delayed payments and escalate unresolved cases when necessary.
  • Support the negotiation of payment plans where appropriate.

  • Reconcile accounts receivable balances with payments received and financial records.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to invoices or payments.
  • Maintain proper documentation of invoices, receipts, and supporting records.
  • Prepare periodic accounts receivable reports including aging analysis and collection status.
  • Provide updates to management on outstanding balances and collection performance.
  • Support financial reporting processes by providing accurate receivable data.
  • Ensure accounts receivable activities comply with internal policies and financial procedures.
  • Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company revenues.
  • Support internal and external audits related to receivables.
  • Work closely with finance, treasury, sales, and operations teams to resolve billing and payment issues.
  • Support the improvement of billing and receivable management processes.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounts receivable, accounting, or financial operations.
  • Experience in financial services, telecom, or mobile money environments is an added advantage.

Education Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent, is an added advantage.
