ASSISTANT MANAGER, INTERNATIONAL MONEY TRANSFER & CROSS BOARDER PAYMENT

Job Title: Assistant Manager, International Money Transfer and Cross Boarder Payment

Department: Payment

Reports to: International Banking & Cross Border Payments Senior Manager

Location: Equity Bank Headquarters

Job Summary

The Assistant Manager, IMTs & Cross Border Payments, will be responsible for driving the growth and performance of the bank’s International Money Transfer (IMT) agency network. The role involves recruiting, activating, training, and managing IMT agents to enhance cross-border payment services, brand visibility, and business revenues.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Implement the IMT Agency Distribution Channel Strategy across the network.
• Identify, recruit, and activate targeted IMT agents for the bank.
• Provide ongoing support to branch agent supervisors to drive performance.
• Achieve annual growth targets in remittance business through IMT agencies.
• Ensure branding compliance according to approved brand operation standards.
• Develop and execute training programs for IMT agents to ensure competence and compliance.
• Monitor and prole IMT agents to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Implement fraud prevention and AML/CFT measures as required by IMT partners.
• Drive business growth and protability in the IMT and remittances segment.
• Provide leadership in customer service and strengthen agent relationships.
• Support the team in cost management and operational eciency initiatives.

Qualification, Experience, Skills and Attributes

• Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in money transfer, payments, or agency banking.
• Proven ability in agent network management and business development.

• Strong understanding of IMT operations, compliance, and AML frameworks.
• Excellent communication, relationship management, and leadership skills.
