Job Description

Position Title: Business Analytics Assistant Manager

Position Grade / Job level: Assistant Manager Reports To Business Analytics Manager

Function / Department: Finance Department

Job Location: Equity Bank Rwanda - Head Office

The role Purpose

Responsible for developing performance dashboards, building databases, supporting alignment of chart of accounts to organizational reporting dimensions, and managing accurate and complete data for analytics and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop dashboards and scorecards for performance monitoring using ERP, Finacle, Way4, and other data sources.
  • Collect, clean, and analyze financial and operational data for Relationship Manager, Branch, Segment, Sector, Product, Bank, and Group performance reports.
  • Create scripts or workflows (Power BI, SQL, RPA tools) to streamline data processes.
  • Act as Group analytics champion for Payments/Channels business, including scheme profitability appraisals (Visa, Mastercard, CUP & Proprietorship).
  • Drive data automation, extraction, and updates from ERP, Finacle, channels, and third-party sources.
  • Collaborate with IT and Operations teams to develop reconciliation dashboards for leadership levels.
  • Support budgeting and planning through forecasting and disaggregation of subsidiary budgets.
  • Develop reconciliation dashboards using GL monitoring tools and Power BI.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

  • Processes: Streamlined data automation and reporting workflows.
  • Systems: Effective dashboards and BI tools for decision-making.
  • Customers: Internal stakeholders across Group and subsidiaries.

  • Prioritization of automation and reporting enhancements.

Complexity Expected in the Role (e.g., Multiple countries, Cross-functional responsibilities, Delivering through other third parties, etc.)

  • Multi-country operations, integration of diverse data sources, and cross-functional collaboration.

Critical Relationship/Stakeholders/Contacts

  • Internal: Group Finance, IT, Operations (Reconciliation & Settlements), Subsidiary Finance Teams.
  • External: BI tool vendors, consultants.

Key Technical Skills & Leadership competencies

  • Advanced data analytics and visualization (Power BI, Oracle BI).
  • Knowledge of reconciliation systems and ERP SQL.
  • Strong financial modeling and forecasting skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Finance, Commerce, IT, Data Science, or related discipline.
  • CPA/ACCA qualification is an added advantage.
  • 3–5 years in business analytics and/or management reporting.
  • Familiarity with reconciliation systems and BI tools.
