About Ambucycle

Ambucycle is dedicated to providing rapid, global-standard prehospital care. Our mission is to develop skilled and empathetic first responders who can navigate traffic efficiently to address acute medical requirements. We are currently seeking dedicated Nurses to join our elite team of motorcycle-based First Responders.

The Role

As an Ambucycle First Responder, you will be the first line of defense in medical emergencies. You will operate a motorcycle to reach scenes quickly, assess critical situations, and deliver life-saving prehospital care. You will be responsible for stabilizing patients with cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and trauma-related emergencies before and during transition to the next line of care.

Key Responsibilities

Based on our core competency framework, a first responder’s duties will include:

• Rapid Response: Safely operate a motorcycle to reach emergency scenes immediately.
• Clinical Assessment: Perform rapid and accurate assessments of patient conditions (Trauma, Airway, Breathing, Circulation).
• Emergency Intervention: Administer BLS and ALS interventions, including CPR, airway management

• (suctioning) , hemorrhage control, IV/IO access, and fluid administration.
• Triage & Scene Management: Assess scene safety, prioritize care based on severity, and coordinate with police
  and other emergency teams.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient status, interventions, and vital signs using standard
  reporting formats.
• Communication: Provide clear, empathetic updates to patients and families, and perform professional handovers to receiving hospital teams.

Mandatory Requirements

To be eligible for this program, applicants MUST meet the following criteria:

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
2. Professional Licensure: Must hold a valid registration and license as a healthcare provider (Nursing) in Rwanda.
3. Driving Licensure: Must hold a valid Motorcycle Driving License.
4. Health: Must be in good mental and physical health 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience in Emergency Care, ICU, or Trauma Units is highly encouraged and will be considered a strong asset.
• Demonstrated ability to work under high-stress conditions.
• Strong command of English and Kinyarwanda (verbal and written).
