POSITION: Laundry Attendant

REPORTS TO: Executive Housekeeper

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

A Laundry Attendant is responsible for cleaning, drying, ironing, and organizing laundry items such as clothing, linens, and uniforms. They will typically be responsible for cleaning guests’ linens, laundry, staff uniforms and make sure the working environment is well maintained and cleaned. 

TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be very familiar at performing the laundry opening duties 
• Sort laundry by color, fabric type, and level of soiling 
• Operate washing machines, dryers, and pressing/ironing equipment 
• Load and unload laundry efficiently while following proper procedures 
• Use appropriate detergents, chemicals, and cleaning techniques 
• Inspect items for stains or damage and treat stains when necessary 
• Fold, press, and package clean laundry neatly 
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area 
• Monitor machine performance and report any faults or maintenance needs 
• Follow health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times
• Perform any other duties assigned by competent authorities 

Minimum qualifications and experience required 

• An advanced Diploma (A1) in Hospitality, laundry operation or relevant disciple with at least 2 years of working experience as laundry attendant.
• An advanced level certificate (A2) in Hospitality, laundry operation or relevant disciple with at least more than 3 years of working experience as laundry attendant.
• Have strong communication skills in English or French.
• Should have a clean disciplinary record of work
• Having worked in high end Hotels will be added advantage.
• Should be ready to start working as soon as possible.
