Job Description
Water and Sanitation Corporation Group Limited (WASAC Group Ltd), through its subsidiary WASAC Utility Limited and WASAC Development, intends to recruit competent and enthusiastic professionals for the position outlined below to support the effective delivery of its mandate.
Location: At Water Treatment Plant, Different location country wide depending on the plant location
Reports to: The Head of WTP
Nature of Contract: Open ended
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and perform preventive and corrective maintenance o n mechanical and electrical equipment
- Maintain pumps, motors, valves, pipelines, compressors, and generators
- Monitor and maintain service electrical systems including control panels, transformers, and wiring
- Ensure minimal downtime and continuous plant operation
- Support automation systems and maintain rotating equipment (pumps, blowers, mixers)
- Ensure proper operation o f filtration and sludge handling equipment
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and recommend upgrades or replacement of aging equipment
- Coordinate with operations teams to minimize process disruptions
- Coordinate procurement of parts and equipment
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and regulations
- Support environmental and operational compliance
- Supervise technicians and maintenance staff and work closely with operations and water quality teams Perform any other duties as assigned by the SPIU Coordinator
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum experience of 3 years i n maintenance of pumps, motors, generators, control panels, and distribution systems.
- Relevant background in preventive and corrective maintenance planning.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults i n water infrastructure systems.
