The Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB) is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Officer, Medical Audit to strengthen our healthcare quality assurance and compliance efforts. As an Officer, Medical Audit, you will play a key role in reviewing medical practices, analysing claims and billing accuracy, evaluating compliance with healthcare regulations, and identifying areas for quality improvement within RSSB’s medical schemes. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of medical coding, healthcare standards, and audit methodologies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive audits of healthcare services to assess quality, clinical appropriateness, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop, refine, and enhance medical audit methodologies to ensure accuracy and standardization.
- Perform statistical and qualitative analyses to identify trends, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities.
- Review medical claims and billing documentation for accuracy, fraud detection, and compliance with standards.
- Provide evidence-based recommendations to strengthen healthcare quality within RSSB medical schemes.
- Prepare clear, detailed audit reports and present findings to the Manager, Medical Audit, and other stakeholders.
- Engage and collaborate with healthcare providers to discuss audit insights and promote best practices.
- Support training of healthcare facilities and internal teams on audit processes and compliance requirements.
- Ensure secure, confidential, and accurate documentation of all audit activities.
- Monitor regulatory changes and healthcare best practices to keep RSSB’s audit processes updated.
- Participate in special audits or strategic projects as assigned.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine (MBBS), Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Management, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in medical auditing, healthcare quality assurance, compliance, or a similar field.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking capabilities.
- Solid understanding of healthcare regulations, medical coding, and billing standards.
