As we continue to grow, we are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Officer to join our team and help us source mining equipment, materials, and services efficiently, transparently, and at the best value.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to payment
- Source and purchase mining equipment, spare parts, explosives and consumables, fuel, personal protective equipment (PPE), and contracted services
- Prepare and issue tenders, requests for quotations (RFQs), and requests for proposals (RFPs)
- Evaluate bids and supplier proposals, and make well-justified recommendations
- Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers
- Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier databases
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure quality, safety compliance, and timely delivery to site
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- [2-3] years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in mining, construction, or another heavy industry
- Professional certification (e.g., CIPS) is an added advantage
- Solid knowledge of procurement procedures, contract management, and tendering processes
- Familiarity with mining equipment and supply chains is an added advantage
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
