Senior Manager - Network Security

Job Purpose

The Senior Manager – Network Security is responsible for leading the organization's cybersecurity strategy, network security operations, security governance, and managed security services portfolio. The role ensures the protection of the ISP's infrastructure, customer environments, data assets, and managed security platforms against cyber threats while driving the growth and operational excellence of security services offered to customers.

The position provides strategic leadership for Security Operations Center (SOC) activities, incident response, security architecture, vulnerability management, compliance, and customer-facing managed security services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cybersecurity Strategy and Leadership

• Develop and implement the organization's cybersecurity strategy and roadmap.
• Establish security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with industry best practices.
• Advise executive management on cybersecurity risks, emerging threats, and mitigation strategies.
• Lead cybersecurity governance initiatives across the organization.
• Develop and monitor cybersecurity KPIs and performance metrics.

2. Network Security Management

• Oversee the security of ISP backbone, core, aggregation, access, cloud, and data center networks.
• Ensure effective deployment and management of firewalls, IDS/IPS, DDoS protection, NAC, VPNs, WAFs, and security gateways.
• Develop network segmentation and Zero Trust security architectures.
• Conduct regular security reviews and risk assessments of network infrastructure.
• Ensure security controls are integrated into network design and implementation.

3. Managed Security Services Leadership

• Lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of managed security services.
• Develop security service offerings including:
  • Managed Firewall Services
  • Managed SOC Services
  • Managed SIEM Services
  • Managed Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)
  • Vulnerability Management Services
  • Managed DDoS Protection
  • Security Monitoring and Incident Response
  • Cloud Security Services
  • Security Consulting Services
• Define service catalogs, SLAs, OLAs, and customer reporting frameworks.
• Support sales teams in developing customer security solutions.

4. Security Operations Center (SOC) Management

• Direct 24/7 security monitoring and threat detection operations.
• Oversee incident triage, escalation, containment, eradication, and recovery processes.
• Ensure effective use of SIEM, SOAR, threat intelligence, and security analytics platforms.
• Lead cyber incident investigations and post-incident reviews.
• Establish cyber threat hunting and proactive detection capabilities.

5. Risk Management and Compliance

• Conduct enterprise security risk assessments.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity risk registers.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Lead security audits and compliance assessments.
• Support certifications and recertifications and frameworks such as:
  • ISO 27001
  • ISO 27701
  • ISO/IEC 22237
  • ISO/IEC 17788
  • PCI DSS
  • NIST Cybersecurity Framework
  • CIS Controls
  • Local telecommunications regulations

6. Security Architecture and Engineering

• Review and approve security architecture designs.
• Ensure secure deployment of new technologies and platforms.
• Guide implementation of cloud security controls.
• Develop secure network and system hardening standards.
• Evaluate emerging security technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.

7. Customer Security Assurance

• Act as executive technical lead for strategic security customers.
• Participate in customer security reviews and presentations.
• Support security proposal development and contract negotiations.
• Ensure managed security services meet contractual obligations and SLAs.
• Build trusted relationships with key customers and stakeholders.

8. Incident Response and Cyber Resilience

• Lead cyber crisis management activities.
• Develop and test incident response and disaster recovery plans.
• Coordinate response to major security incidents and breaches.
• Ensure business continuity and cyber resilience requirements are maintained.

9. Team Leadership and Development

• Lead and mentor cybersecurity managers, engineers, analysts, and SOC personnel.
• Develop staff training and certification programs.
• Build a high-performance cybersecurity culture.
• Manage departmental budgets, resource planning, and workforce development.

10. Vendor and Stakeholder Management

• Manage relationships with security vendors and service providers.
• Evaluate and procure cybersecurity technologies.
• Coordinate with regulators, industry partners, and law enforcement agencies where necessary.
• Participate in cybersecurity forums and industry working groups

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or related field.
• Master's Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Business Administration, or related discipline is preferred.

Professional Certifications

One or more of the following certifications is highly desirable:

• CISSP
• CISM

• ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor
• Cisco CCNP Security / CCIE Security
• Fortinet NSE Certifications

Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in network security and cybersecurity.
• Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership or management role is an added value.
• Strong experience within ISP, telecommunications, cloud, or managed services environments.
• Proven experience managing Security Operations Centers (SOC).
• Experience delivering managed security services to enterprise customers.
• Experience with large-scale network infrastructure and data center environments.
