Position: Senior Mechanic
Company: Prime Trucking Services Africa Ltd a DP World company is seeking to hire a qualified and experienced Senior Mechanic
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults in forklifts and trucks
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on all assigned equipment
- Perform advanced troubleshooting using diagnostic tools and software
- Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify faults before breakdowns occur
- Ensure all repairs are carried out in compliance with safety and manufacturer standards
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
- Supervise and guide junior mechanics where necessary
- Recommend improvements to maintenance processes and equipment reliability
- Ensure proper use of tools, parts, and workshop resources
- Collaborate with operations team to minimize downtime of fleet assets
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Professional certification in automotive/mechanical systems (added advantage)
- Minimum 5–8 years’ hands-on experience in forklift and heavy truck maintenance
- Strong experience in engine diagnostics, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and maintenance software
