Mission/Core purpose of the Job

• Ensuring full tax compliance with Rwandan laws and regulations, managing all tax-related matters, including corporate income tax, VAT, WHT, and industry-specific levies such as telecom regulatory fees and excise duties.
• The role supports strategic business decisions by providing timely tax advice, managing tax risks, and maintaining good relationships with tax authorities and stakeholders.

Key Performance Areas

• Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax returns (VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT, Excise Duty, etc.).
• Oversee preparation of tax computations and disclosures in financial statements.
• Maintain compliance with Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) regulations and timelines.
• Provide tax input into key business transactions (contracts, pricing, vendor payments).
• Structure commercial arrangements in a tax-efficient manner.
• Advise business units on tax implications of strategic initiatives (e.g., network expansion, M&A, product launches).
• Manage tax audits, respond to RRA queries, and coordinate information provision.
• Maintain and update transfer pricing documentation as required.
• Identify and mitigate tax risks and exposures.
• Ensure proper record-keeping for tax audit trail purposes.
• Serve as the main point of contact between the company and tax authorities.
• Represent the company in discussions with regulators  
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, legal, and advisory teams.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in tax, preferably within telecom, consulting, or multinational companies. 

Education Background

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Taxation, Management, Law or related field.
• CPA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Rwandan tax law and telecom regulatory framework
