Currently, the Bank is seeking additional talent to serve as the Assistant Manager, FULL STACK DEVELOPER, whose holder reports to the Manager, Software Developer.

Job Summary

To design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade banking applications, APIs, and digital solutions. The role will serve as a senior technical contributor responsible for software architecture, hands-on development, systems integration, code quality, and technical leadership across the bank's development initiatives. The incumbent will be expected to solve complex technical problems, mentor developers, and actively participate in delivering strategic technology projects.

Key Responsibilities and Accountability

Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developers.
  • Review application architecture and recommend improvements.
  • Lead technical design sessions and code reviews.
  • Establish development standards, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Drive adoption of modern software engineering practices.

Application Development

  • Design and develop scalable web, mobile, and enterprise applications.
  • Build secure APIs, microservices, and middleware components.
  • Develop complex business workflows and integration services.
  • Write high-quality, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Participate actively in development, testing, and deployment activities.

Enterprise Integrations

  • Develop and support integrations with Core Banking (Finacle), Oracle SOA, payment switches, mobile banking, internet banking, and third-party platforms.
  • Design API contracts and integration patterns.
  • Troubleshoot integration failures and performance bottlenecks.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives requiring system interoperability.

Database & Performance Engineering

  • Design and optimise Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL databases.
  • Develop advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, and database packages.
  • Perform application and database performance tuning.
  • Support high-availability and disaster recovery requirements.

DevSecOps & Release Engineering

  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Support containerised deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Integrate security controls throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Manage release processes and production deployments.

Production Support & Resilience

  • Provide Level 3 technical support for critical production incidents.
  • Lead root cause analysis and permanent problem resolution.
  • Participate in major incident management and recovery activities.
  • Ensure application stability, resilience, and performance.

QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications in Microsoft, Java, Oracle, AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, or DevOps will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of software engineering experience.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise applications.
  • Experience in banking, fintech, telecommunications, or highly regulated environments.
  • Experience leading development teams or technical workstreams.

  • Integration: REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, Oracle SOA Suite, API Gateway solutions, Kafka and message queues
  • DevOps: Git, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines
  • Cloud: Microsoft Azure, AWS
