Job Purpose and Key responsibilities
Job Purpose
The Business Analyst serves as the bridge between business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to ensure that technology solutions effectively meet business objectives. The role is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting requirements, evaluating business processes, and providing data-driven insights. By supporting solution design, testing, and implementation, the Business Analyst ensures that IT services and systems deliver value, efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Analysis
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to elicit, document, and analyze software and system requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements that align with project objectives.
- Ensure traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as a liaison between business units, IT, and external vendors, ensuring alignment on objectives and deliverables.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and presentations to gather input, provide updates, and manage expectations.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure IT services and solutions effectively support business goals.
Process Analysis & Optimization
- Perform the necessary technical design and development functionality to ensure that business application systems can be effectively developed and implemented.
- Design of front-end tier(s), middle tier(s), and /or back-end database tier(s) for business applications.
- Collaborate with business units to design and document optimized processes, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Support change management by recommending process improvements and helping stakeholders adapt to new workflows.
- Research and provide input on design approach, performance and base functionality improvements for various procedures and applications.
Data Analysis & Insights
- Collect, validate, and interpret data to support business decision-making and requirement validation.
- Identify data trends, patterns, and anomalies to provide actionable insights.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across IT systems and reporting platforms.
- Perform data modelling to analyze and specify data structures within an application system.
Testing & Quality Assurance Support
- Work with QA teams to develop test plans, test scripts, and acceptance criteria based on business requirements.
- Participate in functional, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet defined requirements.
- Validate defect fixes and support end-users during the testing phase to ensure successful implementation.
- Implementing and testing database design and functionality and tuning for performance.
- Generation of ideas to improve efficiency in software and application services offered to the business, and/or generate revenue for business
Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Computer Science or technical-related field.
- 2 – 3 years’ experience in Business analysis, which includes project management
- 2 years’ experience with RDMS preferably MS SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL
- Certified in IT.
- Have knowledge of data analysis and analytics, Mobile infrastructure, Internet technologies, ecommerce and e-payment technologies.
- Experience in processing automation using robotics.
