The Job Description
Position Title: Business Analytics Manager
Position Grade / Job level: Senior Manager
Reports To Head of Finance
Function / Department: Finance Department
Job Location: Equity Bank Rwanda - Head Office
The role Purpose
Lead the design, development, and implementation of critical financial business intelligence initiatives and projects for the Group that contribute to strategic decision-making, including development of performance dashboards and predictive analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development of databases, data tables, and data warehouses for performance reporting.
- Automate data updates from ERP, Finacle, and other sources.
- Drive data clean-up initiatives and align chart of accounts to reporting dimensions.
- Support ERP reporting framework alignment to organizational dimensions.
- Collaborate with IT to develop dashboards for Group and subsidiary leadership.
- Generate insights on customer behavior and performance trends for strategic decisions.
- Support budgeting and planning through forecasting and budget disaggregation.
- Assess ROI from new products, services, and marketing initiatives.
- Provide data for reconciliation and GL monitoring systems.
- Customize dashboards for mobile devices using tools like Power BI.
- Design KPI dashboards for non-banking subsidiaries.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

- Processes: Streamlined data integration and reporting frameworks.
- Systems: Robust BI tools and dashboards for decision-making.
- Customers: Internal stakeholders across Group and subsidiaries.

- Data architecture and dashboard design choices.
- Prioritization of analytics initiatives and reporting enhancements.
- Choice of automation tools and solutions for different use cases
- Work allocation to BI and Analytics team members
Complexity Expected in the Role (e.g., Multiple countries, Cross-functional responsibilities, Delivering through other third parties, etc.)
- Multi-country operations, cross-functional collaboration, and integration of diverse data sources.
- Timely delivery of recurring reports, dashboards and insights despite underlying data and system challenges Critical Relationship/Stakeholders/Contacts
- Internal: Group Finance, IT, Subsidiary Finance Teams, Executive Leadership, Commercial Teams and Strategy office.
- External: BI tool vendors, consultants, regulatory bodies.
Key Technical Skills & Leadership competencies
- Advanced data analytics and visualization (Power BI, Oracle BI).
- Data operations automation via Python
- Strong financial modeling and forecasting skills.
- Leadership in cross-functional projects.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Finance, Commerce, Data Science, or related discipline.
- Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- CPA/ACCA qualification preferred.
- 5–8 years in business analytics and/or management reporting.
- Exposure to senior executives and directors.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and BI tools.
