Job responsibilities

Coordinate the community-based child and family support initiatives;
-
Coordinate with local leaders and community structures to promote ECD, nutrition, and child protection awareness and participation;
-
Strengthen parents’ and caregivers’ capacity to support children’s holistic development ;
-
Organize and report on capacity building for prospective caregivers, CHW, and friends of Family (IZU), ensuring quality standards in caregiving practices;
-
Facilitate connections between families and ECD facilities, health services, and social protection schemes;
-
Work with district staff and partners to track nutrition and WASH indicators at household and facility levels;
-
Support identification of safe family-based care solutions for children without parental care, including foster families;
-
Ensure community awareness and adherence to national child safeguarding policies and ministerial instructions;
-
Support and supervision of the friends of the Family in the implementation of their roles and responsibilities in the community;
-
Strengthen community structures to ensure continuity of services beyond project cycles;
-
Contributes to developing partnerships and collaboration with internal and external counterparts to exchange information on programme status and implementation;
-
Initiate and support the establishment of partnership mechanisms between the public and private sectors for the provision of nurturing to children;
-
Document progress, challenges, and lessons learned for institutional reporting and policy refinement;
-
Organize documentation of case studies demonstrating successful program interventions and outcomes;
-
Fulfils any other duties as assigned by his/her supervisors.

Fluency in Kinyaranda English and or French knowledge of Swahili is an added advantage
