Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA) is a Public Broadcaster with a mission of "Providing quality content that meets the needs of the audience and promotes cultural values, socioeconomic transformation and citizen participation in the digital society". Job Description

  • Provide legal opinions on issues affecting the Agency:
  • Draft and review the Agency's and third party contracts;
  • Review all contracts and Agreements which require DG approval to which RBA is party,
  • Ensure that the Board's decisions are properly communicated and implemented;
  • Provide quality assurance on all legal reports,

  • Contribute to policy formulation and standards and review these periodically to keep abreast with the changing environment and other legal/regulatory requirements,
  • Support the agency in compliance with Legal/Regulatory Framework,
  • Review corporate legal documents in collaboration with the legal advisory team and or any other external service providers,
  • Evaluate and advise RBA whether litigation is warranted or not.
  • Act as legal advisor to the DG and Manage on any aspects pertaining to the agency activities,
  • Participate in strategic meetings and negotiations involving the agency's and its subsidiaries,
  • Mentor and supervise staff in the legal department to contribute to the fulfillment of the agency's Mission,
  • Provide Professional support and mentorship to the legal department,
  • Represent the agency and the DG at various fora whenever called upon,
  • Effective representation of the agency in legal issues internally and externally,
  • Perform any other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the DG.

Related Job Experience and Additional Skills

  • Good knowledge of Rwandan Laws,
  • Demonstrable strong management competencies,
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English,
  • Ability to work under pressure,
  • Ability to provide vision and direction,
  • Result oriented team player with a high degree of ethics and professionalism.

Job Profile:

  • Degree in Law, with at least 5 years' experience at a senior level in a reputable organization or law firm with substantial experience in litigation matters. International experience or exposure would be an additional advantage.
