DRIVER

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Fleet Officer, the Driver will carry out day-to-day duties of driving bank vehicles while on ocial travel. The driver provides reliable and safe driving services for the transport of authorized personnel. He has a client-oriented approach, a high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact and the ability to work with people of dierent national and cultural backgrounds. He/ She must ensure that the bank vehicle has sucient fuel and is always ready for use and ensure that every bank car movement is recorded in the logbook accordingly. The driver shall have an additional responsibility to report on the status of the vehicle at every month end and provide a report on the consumption of Spares Parts, and Fuel.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Accountable for regular preventative of the assigned Vehicle/Vehicles
  • Compliance with Insurance Rules and regulations for the Vehicle assigned to him/her
  • Ensure that every bank car is recorded in the logbook according to every time of travel.
  • Compliance with all traffic rules and regulations
  • The driver is personally responsible for paying any trafficfines as may be issued because of operating a bank vehicle contrary to the trac laws.
  • Take appropriate precautions when driving conditions are hazardous.
  • Take appropriate measures to secure and safeguard the vehicle until it is returned to the designated location.
  • Maintain an organized travel schedule.
  • Compliance with road and trac laws; car security & cleanness (vehicles must undergo and pass an annual vehicle safety inspection).
  • Ensure bank cars are used in activities dened and approved by bank authorities.
  • Ensure that any accident is reported to the Senior eet ocer and his bosses immediately and the incident report is prepared
  • Any other work may be assigned by his supervisors and/ or management

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Attributes:

  • Valid driving license of category B or plus with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in driving in a reputable Organization.
  • Completion of at least a Secondary School - (A’ Level) is Mandatory, and having a degree is an added advantage. All the above are to be supported with a notarized School Certificate.
  • A recommendation Letter from the Institution worked for in the three years of experience.
  • Being a Rwandese by nationals is mandatory.
  • Speaking several Languages is a requirement, especially Kinyarwanda, Swahili and English.
  • Computer Skills are an added advantage
