Job Description

ITM AFRICA LTD is recruiting a DRIVER on behalf of  DEVELOPMENT BANK OF RWANDA (BRD)   

POSITION: TRANSPORT ASSISTANT/DRIVER

LOCATION: KIGALI, RWANDA

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a professional and reliable DRIVER to provide safe, timely, and efficient transportation support to BRD staff, guests, and partners for meetings, events, and field missions. The Driver will be responsible for maintaining the vehicle in excellent condition, conducting daily inspections, ensuring compliance with safety and traffic regulations, and managing vehicle documentation, fuel usage, and service schedules. The role also involves assisting with logistics, document deliveries, and other administrative support tasks while upholding the highest standards of integrity, discretion, and customer service when representing the Bank.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely drive BRD staff, guests, and partners to meetings, events, and field missions as assigned 
  • Ensure timely pick-up and drop-off of passengers and deliveries.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while representing the Bank. 
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues or damages promptly.
  • Ensure the vehicle is always clean, well-maintained, and roadworthy.
  • Monitor fuel consumption, mileage, and service schedules, and report accordingly.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance and repairs with approved service providers.
  • Maintain a vehicle logbook for all trips, fuel usage, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure that vehicle insurance, registration, and inspection documents are valid and up to date.
  • Assist the administration unit with messenger duties, document delivery, and logistics support for events or missions.
  • Support in coordinating transportation for visitors, consultants, and delegations.
  • Help with office errands and procurement-related transport tasks as needed.
  • Ensure that passengers comply with safety requirements (e.g., seatbelts).
  • Report incidents or accidents immediately and assist in preparing reports if required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of official discussions and documents encountered during duty.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion at all times.
  • Adhere to BRD’s transport and safety policies, as well as Rwandan traffic regulations.

YOU WILL BE AN IDEAL CANDIDATE IF YOU POSSESS THE FOLLOWING PROFFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Driving license category B and C for Manual vehicle is a must have  
  • Must be fluent in English and kinyarwanda 
  • Must be female.
