A. About GIZ and the Project
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a federally owned international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations. The GIZ Office in Kigali covers GIZ’s portfolio in Rwanda and Burundi and as well as selected regional activities and projects. GIZ Rwanda/Burundi implements projects on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the European Union and other commissioning authorities in the following priority areas: Sustainable Economic Development; Good Governance; Climate, Energy and Sustainable Urban Development; Digital Transformation and Digital Economy; and regional projects in the Great Lakes Region.
"Feminism in Action for Structural Transformation" (FAST) is a global German development cooperation program that promotes the implementation of innovative feminist measures. FAST supports the practical implementation of the Feminist Development Policy of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The aim is to pilot innovative feminist approaches, make learning experiences visible and scalable and promote the international exchange of methods and knowledge on feminist development policy.
In Rwanda, the FAST project focuses on good governance through gender data and digitalization to advance gender equality and prevent gender-based violence (GBV). Its key focus areas are GBV, gender data and digitalization, governance, and care work. The project strengthens collaboration between feminist movements, civil society, and government institutions to support gender-responsive policy processes, build cooperation structures and networks, and enhance capacities for using feminist data and implementing transformative and intersectional approaches to gender equality.
GIZ Rwanda is searching a candidate for the position of Gender Data and Intersectionality Advisor.
