Job responsibilities

Conduct legal research on issues relevant to the justice sector and other areas of national priority assigned to the Institute.

Participate in the design, planning, and implementation of research and consultancy assignments undertaken by the Institute.

Review and analyse national legislation, policies, case law, international legal instruments, and comparative legal frameworks to support research activities undertaken by the Institute.

Prepare legal analyses, research papers, policy briefs, concept notes, and technical reports.

Participate in the development of research methodologies, data collection tools, and analytical frameworks for research assignments.

Analyse qualitative and legal data and contribute to the preparation of research findings, conclusions, and recommendations.

Identify and pursue research and consultancy opportunities by monitoring public tenders, calls for proposals, and funding opportunities.

Participate in research proposals, technical proposals, and expressions of interest in response to consultancy and research opportunities.
-
Contribute to the preparation of grant applications and funding proposals for research projects.

Support the development and periodic review of ILPD's research agenda and contribute to strengthening the Institute's research portfolio.

Contribute to the publication and dissemination of research outputs and other legal knowledge products.

Perform any other research-related duties assigned by the supervisor or the Institute's Management.
Qualifications

Master's Degree in Law with 2 Years of relevant experience

2. Job Title: Research Specialist
Job responsibilities

Design research methodologies and develop quantitative and qualitative data collection tools for research and consultancy assignments.

Coordinate the implementation of research projects, including planning, data collection, data management, quality assurance, and reporting.

Analyse qualitative and quantitative data using appropriate analytical techniques and software, and contribute to the interpretation of research findings.
-
Draft, review, and edit research reports, technical reports, policy briefs, and other research publications.
-
Participate in the preparation of research proposals, consultancy proposals, concept notes, and grant applications in response to identified opportunities.
-
Identify research and consultancy opportunities by monitoring public tenders, calls for proposals, and funding opportunities, and contribute to the preparation of competitive technical and financial proposals.

Organize and coordinate research activities, including stakeholder consultations, field missions, validation workshops, dissemination events, and other research-related engagements.

Maintain databases of research projects, consultancy assignments, research outputs, and institutional knowledge resources.

Support the monitoring, evaluation, and quality assurance of research and consultancy assignments to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and professional standards.

Assist in assessing institutional and stakeholder research needs and contribute to the development and periodic review of ILPD's research agenda.

Contribute to the dissemination and publication of research findings through reports, policy briefs, workshops, conferences, and other knowledge-sharing platforms.

Support the preparation of periodic reports on research and consultancy activities undertaken by the Directorate.

Coordinate the management of consultancy contracts between the Institute and its clients, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and timely implementation of deliverables.

Perform any other research- and consultancy-related duties assigned by the supervisor or the Institute's Management.
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Statistics, Data Sciences, Mathematics with 5 Years of relevant experience

Master's Degree in Economics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science with 2 Years of relevant experience
Required competencies and key technical skills

Research and critical thinking skills
-
Knowledge and experience in the use of statistical packages (SPSS, STATA, CSPro, etc)
-
Should have experience in quantitative and qualitative research method or specialized surveys, and policies evaluations whose curriculum vitae demonstrate both professional and academic qualifications and capacity.

3. Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Technician
Job responsibilities
-
Do regular monitoring of Institute’s electrical installations;
-
Repair any the electricity break down;
-
Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit bleaker panels)
-
Check the maintenance of generator;
-
Prepare technical specifications of electrical equipment or spare parts to be procured
-
Maintain water heater installation system;
-
Conducting routine preventive maintenance of electrical channels within buildings of the Institute;
-
Participate in supervision of complex electrical installation projects undertaken by external contractors;
-
Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety standards during maintenance activities;
-
Advising the management on maintenance requirements and replacement of aging electrical infrastructure or devices;
-
Performing any other maintenance-related duties assigned by the Supervisor.
