The Department of Human Resources would like to inform the public and its estimated staff of opportunity for the position of Logistics Assistant storekeeper under a fixed term employment contract.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant storekeeper to support storekeepers in managing inventory flow efficiently. This role involves a combination of administrative tasks, inventory control and physical handling of goods, ensuring accuracy, compliance and smooth operations.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

  • Assist in maintaining stock accuracy in Empties, finished good and Pallets by reconciling ERP data with physical stock counts conducting regular audits.
  • Assist in organizing deliveries to optimize distribution efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to FIFO principles and conduct routine checks for compliance.
  • Inspect the quality and condition of goods received based on visual assessment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in X3 ERP and update provided spreadsheets.
  • Coordinate forklift operations and assist storekeepers in assigning tasks to loading/unloading teams.
  • Document and report to the storekeeper’s damages and discrepancies in received or delivered orders.
  • Monitor and uphold cleanliness and organization in stock areas.
  • Foster a safe and productive work environment for casual workers.

KEY COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong knowledge of inventory management and bookkeeping principles.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency with inventory software, and experience with Microsoft office suite.
  • High integrity, reliability and strong work ethics.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays when required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in economics, accounting, management or related field.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure.
