Horizon Construction Ltd, a leading infrastructure development company established in April 2007, specializes in road construction, housing, energy, water resources, and construction equipment. To strengthen our team and support ongoing operations, we are seeking qualified, experienced, and motivated professionals for the following positions:.

MATERIAL ENGINEER
RESPONSIBILITIES

Material Engineer will be responsible for:

• Assess and select suitable materials for various components of the road (e.g., subgrade, subbase, base, asphalt layers, concrete, and geotextiles).
• Evaluate and recommend material sources (quarries, suppliers).
• Supervise or conduct on-site and laboratory material tests (e.g., Proctor, CBR, Sieve Analysis, Asphalt Marshall, etc.).
• Analyze test results and ensure they conform to the project’s specifications and standards.
• Prepare material submittals and technical reports.

• Maintain proper documentation of test results, approvals, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
• Assist in preparing monthly quality control reports.
• Ensure all materials meet standards such as AASHTO, ASTM, BS, or relevant local codes.
• Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with material-related aspects of the contract.
• Provide technical support on-site regarding material-related issues.
• Coordinate with the construction team to address any discrepancies or material rejections.
• Monitor stockpiling and handling of materials to prevent contamination or degradation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or above in geotechnical Engineering ,Civil Engineering or related specialization field

REQUIRED  EXPERIENCE

• 5 Years of experience in road projects;

OTHER SKILLS

• Membership of professional bodies
