Trinity Musha Mines Ltd is a Mining company focused on the production and exploration of Tin, Tantalum, and Lithium in Rwanda. Trinity Musha is currently looking for a highly motivated and committed Mining Superintendent.

Reports To:General Manager

Location:Musha-Rwamagana

Job Brief:Implement and execute agreed on Mine plan, strive to achieve production goals in a cost effective, safe and environmentally responsible manner.

 Responsibilities:

• Mining Superintendent has the following responsibilities and duties:
• Oversees mining operations and directly supervise and coordinates all mining activities
• Ensures that entire operations are optimized in ways that ensure maximum efficiency while maintaining safety standards throughout the Mine

Creates and submits weekly, monthly and annual Mine plans; communicate the plans to front line Supervisory level

• Works in collaboration with the Technical Services department to ensure that short term plans align with the Mines long term plans
• Ensures that production targets are achieved and propose alternatives for improvements
• Ensures the optimum use of Company’s resources while achieving the set objectives

Leads the introduction of mechanization and modern mining methods and practices transforming the mine from small scale mining operations

Implements effective support standards

• Implements effective ventilation standards
• Implements and optimizes drill and blast operations
• Oversees the development of Supervisors, providing support and guidance
• Provides comprehensive mentorship and leadership across the mining Team
• Coordinates with all Support Teams and nurture positive working relations
• Prepares with the Mining Team, the department’s budget and effectively manages it

Leads and participates in meetings and briefings

• Ensure that daily, weekly and monthly reports are submitted to Management
• Builds a strong safety culture
• Ensures that all Company procedures and policies are enforced and adhered to

Job Requirements

• A Mining Superintendent should have the following education, experience and skills:
• A bachelor’s degree/Advanced diploma in mining from a recognized mining school would be advantageous
• Working experience of at least 10 years in practical mining
• Drill and blasting experience

• Mechanized mining experience
• Underground mining with narrow steeply dipping vein experience is very essential
• At least 8 years’ experience in leading mining teams
• Strong technical mining skills
• Physical fitness.
• Leadership skills
• Proficiency in mine planning software (e.g. Deswick, Datamine or MineSight) would be advantageous.
• Professionalism, positive attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Willing to work overtime
• Teamwork spirit
• Presentation and Reporting skills
