Operational Risk Manager (1)
Job Purpose
To support the development of, and maintenance of an effective, integrated operational risk management framework within the Bank and to ensure the embedding of operational risk management within the Bank that facilitates the balance of business growth with bank’s controls.
Main Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF) that is consistent with Bank Operational Risk policies and procedures.

Planning, Scheduling, and conducting Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) for Head office Business units/Branches.

Develop and maintain Bank risk registers for Head office entities and branches, ensuring that ownership, action plans are clear, and that progress of action plans are being made in accordance with the remediation plan.

Develop Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) framework for head office/Branches and escalate breaches of KRIs.

Review new product/process/geographies in line with the New Products Approval Process Policy.

Plan and conduct New Process/Product/Geographies Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs).

Establish a comprehensive and continuous training program on various risks that the bank faces to embed knowledge of policies and procedures across the business.

Engage Business Risk Managers/Risk Champions on long outstanding risk issues & RCSA review needs, KCSA, and KRIs.

Sustain risk momentum through Risk dialogues and reporting within the business units.

Develop control standards and control self-assessment to mitigate the identified risks for use by the Business units.
Daily Responsibilities
-
Planning, Scheduling and conducting Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA).

Developing and managing business units KRIs.

Reviewing and reporting on the key risks emanating from RCSA/KRIs results to senior management Operational Risk.

Daily risk engagements with the business units through facilitated risk workshops.

Risk assessment for new products, processes and geographies and Post Implementation reviews required.
Educational Qualifications & Work Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Management, and/or Accounting.

Professional Qualifications - CPA, CISA, ACCA, FRM, and/or PRM.

Master’s degree in Business Administration, Strategic Management, Banking, and/or Finance.
-
A Minimum of Six (6) Years of Experience.
