SWITZERLAND - RWANDA COOPERATION SCHOLARSHIPS

The Higher Education Council (HEC) wishes to inform the public that the Swiss Government is offering a limited number of scholarships for the academic year 2026-2027.

These scholarships are available only for Research Fellowships, PhD or Postdoctoral studies of one year’s duration (3 years for PhD studies) at Swiss Universities, with exception of studies in fine arts. The age limit is 35 years , except for postdoctoral studies. Please note that the Swiss Government does not offer scholarships for Undergraduate and Master studies to the East African students.

Each year the Swiss Confederation awards Government Excellence Scholarships to encourage international exchange and research cooperation between Switzerland and over 180 other countries. Recipients are selected by the awarding body, the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS aka ESKAS).

Interested applicants are requested to visit the website: www.sbfi.admin.ch/scholarships_eng and submit their applications electronically via the GO ESKAS portal(https://www.go.eskas.ch) by 28th November 2025.
