AGRI-BUSINESS CREDIT ANALYST MANAGER

Overview of the job

The responsibilities of the Agribusiness credit analyst Manager include analyzing agricultural credit data and financial information of persons or companies that are applying for agribusiness credit or loans to determine the market, production, nancial, environmental and social related risks that the bank, will not recoup funds loaned. The level of risk is then used to determine if a loan or line of credit will be granted, and if so, the terms and conditions of the loan, including interest rate, loan tenor, facility repayment schedule. Agribusiness Credit analyst will prepare reports based upon the findings to help make decisions on lending and credit-worthiness.

Key Duties, Responsibilities and Responsibility

  • Evaluating Agri-clients’ credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in lending money to them.
  • Preparing reports about the degree of risk in lending money to Agri- clients
  • Analyzing Agri-client records and using the data to recommend payment plans.
  • Consulting with credit associations and references to exchange credit information on clients
  • Filling out loan applications and including the credit analysis and loan request summaries, then submitting these loan applications to loan committees for their approval.
  • Consulting with Relationship Managers/ocers to verify their financial/credit transactions and to resolve clients’ complaints.
  • Examining clients’ financial transactions and credit history case by case (applications, statements, balance sheets, legal documents.)
  • Completing ratio, trend and cash ows analyses and create projections that predict trends and patterns.
  • Delivering a multidimensional perspective on the investment outlook in an accessible and informative manner.
  • Carefully analyzing data and produce clear and objective reports.
  • Routinely monitoring loans for compliance.
  • Adhering to credit policy and guidelines.
  • Monitoring corporate portfolio asset quality on an ongoing basis
  • Share report and update on agribusiness performance in terms of le received, approved and declined.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Attributes

  • A Degree preferably in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Agronomy, Animal production, Rural Development, Economics, Circular economy.
  • Over 4 years’ experience Agriculture nance, credit/ lending in banking sector
  • An in-depth knowledge of the Agricultural value chain nancing and other nancing model
  • Strong awareness about the production and market risks and possible mitigation measures.
  • Up to date with agriculture policies, legal, compliance and market risk related issues.
  • Ability to analyze agricultural seasonality and able to review and challenge agribusiness cash-ows leverage, collateral and customer strength.
  • Good understanding of the banking industry
